That's great Colleen, very nice. This year I have a while bunch of good to the local food bank. Usually I donate money, but it actually felt more meaningful doing the food thing, so I will probably do that again next year :) (PS I am by no means saying that donating money is not meaningful!)

Oh Marti.... only just seeing this. So glad that you are reaching out to us, and so very sorry to hear about your troubles with your mum. I have to agree with everyone here - your life, Chris's life and the lives of your children come before your mothers. She CHOOSES to be horrible to you, and it doesn't sound like anything will change the way she behaves towards you. The things you have done and sacrificed to care for her are amazing, but it sounds like your mum thinks it is your 'duty' to do this, which it most certainly is not. You are a very special person Marti, and you need to make sure that you look out for number 1 from time to time. Despite all of the problems, I wish you and your girls a very Merry Christmas xxx
