five years and about to relapse
I will be much easier to fight off the urges to smoke than it would be to start all overagain after lighting up. As others have already said, smoking never did one good thing - not for any of us. Don't let the addiction voice in your head tell you otherwise. Fight, fight, fight to keep your freedom! I've never ever heard one person who relapsed say; "Boy, I'm glad I lit up again!".

five years and about to relapse
Hi @Kris. It’s wonderful to hear from you again - welcome back! I was just thinking about you the other day (re-reading some old posts) and wondering how you are doing. You were welcoming and supportive of me when I joined this group as a new quitter. I’m so sorry that you are struggling. I’m 4.5 years in, and it can be rugged sometimes for me, too. The “stinkin thinkin” voices inside our heads can get awfully loud. So good on you for channeling some group support, to get some perspectives. Your quit is incredibly precious… and freakin HARD EARNED!! Fight for it. Find your fierce. Protect it like you would protect a beloved animal, or a 5-year old child who needed your help. Withdrawal was wretched. Don’t put yourself through it again. Stay strong, stay busy, stay connected. You can do this!

Would smoking change anything ….NO It would only make it worse ….imagine what it would do to your body .. That first pull …probably very dizzy…feel very sick …and possible vomit You would stink …your breath would stink…your clothes… You would wake up that monster who has been sleeping …. Do anything to help …smoking is not the answer 🐸

Don't give in!! Going back to smoking will not solve anything. You already have health issues and smoking for sure has a negative impact. Remember why you quit. That is still valid today. Cravings are no fun but will go away.

Protect your quit! You earned it! Smoking will do nothing to help your health issues, it will only make them worse and you know it. When a crave comes along, try some deep breaths and let it pass over you like a dark shadow.

five years and about to relapse
I have done well been smoke free a little over 5 years. I an really struggling with cravings these last few months. I have dealing with other health issues and the doctor put me on a GLP!. That is working, I have lost weight but my desire to smoke is back at its worse. Anyone else going thru this?
