April 21, 201412 yr Sucks. I never realized it could be that intense. Here's what gripes my ass, there are a hell of lot more non-smokers than smokers so why do they get to ruin the atmosphere for the majority? Can anyone explain that one? I know its all about the money, but I still maintain that even if they couldn't smoke, the dumb fuckers would still go out and smoke and come back in. So it can't be all about the money. I didn't notice this so much in Vegas, maybe they pump in a lot more oxygen. I wonder how many cigarettes I inhaled in an hour of gambling? Hey you know what, they would have got a lot more of my money if it was non-smoking, I left cause I was getting sick, and it wasn't the booze either. Another on the list of places I don't go. Check. Anybody in the midwest please chime in if you have a state that is smoke free on the gambling floor of casino's. thanks PS except Colorado, casinos are smoke-free, they wised up and put them outside. At Blackhawk and Cripple Creek anyways, and that was a lotta fun... :)
April 21, 201412 yr when the UK introduced the smoking ban I went nuts, and panicked!! I was a smoker then of course. Now I love the fact that the UK bans smoking in all indoors public places :-)
April 21, 201412 yr I went to A casino once in Mississippi as a smoker and I cant recall that the smoke was bad years ago I went to a bingo hall with a friend before the ban and my eyes were literally stingy on the way out - it was awful and I was a smoker - what did those poor non smokers think?
April 21, 201412 yr He in So Cali, at least at the casino I've been to, they allow smoking. They do have a "non-smoking " section... like that helps. You can smell the smoke walking in before you even get to the casino. Suffice it to say, I don't go often.
April 21, 201412 yr Markus, don't come to Oregon to gamble... we have a few casinos (one right on the beach), and they allow smoking on the main gambling floor, but they have a "non-smoking" area too... omg, shouldn't that be in reverse??? Crazy crazy crazy.
April 22, 201412 yr when the UK introduced the smoking ban I went nuts, and panicked!! I was a smoker then of course. Now I love the fact that the UK bans smoking in all indoors public places :-) Interestingly I had no problem with the ban, it seemed like a step in the right direction and something that would help me quit when I was ready. The irony now is that to get into a pub you have to walk through the fog of smokers just outside the door.
April 22, 201412 yr I welcomed the no smoking ban in the UK when it came into force, even as a smoker I hated going into restaurants where people smoked, I was very contradictory though as I enjoyed going into a pub and being able to smoke with my drink, I would imagine that was my junkie thought justifying that anything I did or said regarding smoking was cool, whether I contradicted myself or not, Holy Moly what a revelation that is.....I must have been turning myself around in circles trying to chase me tail!!
April 22, 201412 yr I've not gone out yet, going to need my special underpants on to do that I think!
April 23, 201412 yr I've not gone out yet, going to need my special underpants on to do that I think! You should always wear special underpants!
April 23, 201412 yr As a smoker I was kind of borderline gambling addict. I would use the casino as an outlet for my frustrations....at the time I had a lot of frustrations. I would even take a take off of work very frequently to go secretly gambling....I live only 20 min away from a casino...too convenient. As soon as I saw the building I would get excited...and all my problems would disappear the second I walked in the door until the moment I left. I would smoke an entire pack of smokes and if I ran out while I was there...I would buy a pack for the insane price of 12 bucks! It's been 21 months since I stepped foot in a casino.....at first it was because I thought it would trigger me and I wasn't ready to face it now I just don't go because its disgustingly smokey in there......they have smoking sections...which are a joke...right next to the non smoking section. what's that gonna do??? Besides...i don't need to replace one addiction for another and in retrospect....I can see it as a potential problem for me. I'm an addict.
April 23, 201412 yr Here in Oz, there has been no smoking indoors for many years, they have now introduced no smokiing to many outdoor areas, including alfresco dining, some beaches, sporting venues, the zoo, the list goes on, I think it will get to to stage where you can't smoke anywhere but you're own home, and look out if it blows over the fence lol
April 23, 201412 yr Walked past the smoking area at work today...and wow, that stuff stinks! :D Think I may have crossed some type of bridge there....
