Featured Replies

How long have you been a non-smoker? How long has Aine been a non-smoker? What are y'all doing with all the damn money you arent lighting on fire?  :P

Commie stroked out. Was sick.

What??  You mean he just exited the forum...yes? Not that he literally had a stroke??

Heart attack. I think. Was in hospital. Not very happy

Oh.My.God.    Thanks for letting me know, Im gonna whip off an email to him and Aine!

He checks in but not too much

Had a full test workup the other day - EKG, blood enzymes and xray. All is as it ought to be; what's left is just building back my stamina. Cardio therapy going well. Massive dietary change has enabled me to get off all blood pressure medications. I'd say I am 40% of what I used to be which is pretty good six weeks after getting shocked back to life.

Still really glad that I had quit smoking 7 months before the heart attack - having to quit while in the hospital would have really sucked.

Julie - on the 24th you'll have 9 months. I'll ping you a chip ;-)

Comrad, thanks for the update. It sounds like your body is healing remarkably quickly. That's due in part to you having quit smoking months ago. Good for you! Keep up with the PT and your strength will be back before you know it.

Good to hear you are recovering well!

Building back your stamina eh....? Ask Santa to bring you one of those step counters....the fitbit is a pretty cool little gadget.

And from what I hear, Aine makes great healthy stuff.....mashed up chick peas with garlic and stuff. So lay off the poutine, eh?

Awesome job both you knuckleheads.

Hope you are doing well, Julie!

Yeah. I tried some the last time I was in Canada. It wasn't bad-- tastes just as you would expect. But I think I'll stick with my hot, crispy French Fries with just a little salt thank you very much.  :)

PS-- I will say that in my opinion, poutine is way better than chili fries!  :(

What is the cheese curd comparable to? Fresh mozzarella? Or something else?

Yes, cheese curds are like salty mozzarella with a little bit of cheddar flavor. When eaten at room temperature, they squeak when you bite into them. Actually, I LOVE cheese curds-- just not on my French fries.  :P

Ew, sounds a bit odd...

Although chips and gravywork, chips and curry sauce too....

Cheese curds WITH gravy sounds a bit odd.
