Hopefully they settle down at some point? Probably no point in calling the husband to wish him a Happy BD 🤐 He is livid because I was yelling at her too during the whole thing. I think they are taking this way too far. She hung up on me today and then when I called her back she cursed at me. I called the husband this morning but it went to voicemail so I left him a msg. A little while later he texted me and thanked me and said he was busy with work. I really hope they get over this especially since they are moving to FL next month and we won’t be seeing eachother for a while. I'm really surprised I haven’t gone back to smoking after all the aggravation.

I know that YOU know; that wouldn't help this or any other stressful/emotional situation. In fact, smoking would only deepen your regret over the events. No one is worth throwing away a precious quit for - no one! Quitting is about YOU and your better future and that needs to be your primary focus right now. If there's some wreckage left behind ... so be it but I expect this will resolve at some point.

She also brought in things from a few years ago which I don't think actually happened. I spoke with another friend and she said that it didn't, so I think that she is making some of this crap up. I apologized a couple times to her admitting what I did last week was wrong and that I acted like a jerk but I'm not gonna beg for anyone's friendship. If they are willing to throw a lifelong friendship away, then maybe it wasn't such a good friendship to begin with.

August 19, 20233 yr That all sucks, Sandi sorry you’re going through a crazy time….We live and learn right? Could it be too that your friend is moving and subconsciously starting a beef would make it easier to leave her friends (I forget what they call that but it’s what I thought of). In any case you’ve done your part in apologizing and saying hbd so your conscious should be clear no? Have a nice Saturday…it’s much cooler here on the east coast this morning! 57 degrees!
August 19, 20233 yr Good morning! I agree with Briosky- in that your friends starting all if this is making it easier for them move away? Unfortunately at your expense. Easier for some to leave when angry then face the painful reality of (physical) separation from such a long standing friendship. Edited August 19, 20233 yr by robin0212
August 19, 20233 yr Author No, I don't think so, but I do know that they are under a ton of stress because of the move. They sold 2 house (1 down there, 1 up here in NY) and bought a new house in FL so it was very stressful and I think what happened last week exacerbated all of the stress. I did do my part by apologizing a couple times and telling her that I was wrong and acted like a jerk. You would think all would be well after that, but I just don't think it is, especially with her husband. But this is not new behavior for him, he has done stuff to me in the past where he ignored me for 4 months because his dog upset me...not gonna say attacked, but jumped on me twice and I got so scared and he didn't discipline his dog (a big doberman), that I ran out of their house and then he wouldn't talk to me for 4 months. They even came over and he ignored me in my own home eating my food and drinking my booze!!! We were scheduled a month later for them to come over here for dinner. I told her if he is gonna act like that and ignore me, STAY HOME, I don't want him here. Well, she must have said something to him because when they came all was ok. So this is the type of person I am dealing with.
August 19, 20233 yr I see, @Sandi149, sorry this is so stressful for you, but happy to hear it has not broken your amazing quit😊
