  1. Hi all, I wanted to post this the day when I hit my 3 year mark, which was exactly a month ago from today. I'm not writing anything here that hasn't been written a hundred times before, so please bear with me, I'll try to keep it short! For all the good people who are struggling after the quit: stay in there, because being healthy, and staying healthy is one of the top most priorities in our life. Think of the quitting as an investment, the kind that starts paying off in about a year or so. And trust me it will! You'll forget the romance, you'll forget all about the old, "smoking you". As it is, our life expectancy continues to decrease, the food products that we buy aren't healthy anymore, we're consuming gazillion chemicals every day, and what not. On the contrary, when you feel like throwing away quits, think of it as you closing out the best investment in your life for nothing. So don't hesitate to make that investment, and very patiently hold on to it, and wait for it to generate outrageous returns. Happiness, healthy lifestyle, you name it. You know when you forget all about the smoking days, that your investment is starting to pay off. Wishing you all a great 2017, peeps! Peace and love!
  2. Hey ladies! Thanks so much for remembering me! Been around, laying low, been busy taking care of my grandmother who went through a minor surgery. Doreen, you're such a sweetheart really appreciate that..
  3. Wish you a happy birthday Jimmy, cheers!

  6. See? I told you so :D Congratulations, it takes a lot of will power to get where you are now. Maybe it's time to change the name plate? quitterwoman? strugglingvictor? I'm not good at screen names...
  7. How are you doing? :) Just kidding I know you're doing great! Remember not to take a single puff ever again and you'll be just fine. You just reminded me that I haven't celebrated my milestones in a while, not even when I hit a year and a half, I'll remember the next one! Adopt a quitter program sounds great. Gotta look around and see if a baby is available for adoption. Well, not an actual baby. You know what I mean :D
  8. Thanks so much cpk!!! Just trying to be in the game lol :D
  9. Winning a gamble, busy...

  13. Hey Ross, Good to see you! Hope you're doing well. Congrats to you too!
  14. I believe that I have read about AT&T's service online a while ago, sorry that you had to experience it! My question is, how would the help desk be able to figure out what is causing the outage, and whether the issue really requires a hardware replacement? I don't know how your network device is configured, however I'd suggest you try resetting the router and/or modem to see if that restores the service. Worth a try, considering they are not doing anything to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
  15. This post is dedicated to Paul Walker, who is no longer with us to celebrate the success of Furious 7, and also for all his fans here in QT. Not many celebrity deaths upset me. Watching Furious 7 knowing that Paul is not alive was deeply saddening. "Hey, you thought you could leave without saying goodbye?" Brian says, his last line in any Fast and Furious film. The two begin to drive, side-by-side, through the Malibu canyon, and Dominic begins speaking in voice-over: "I used to say I live life a quarter-mile at a time. And that's why we were brothers. Because you did, too." A montage of moments from previous films begins, again with Dominic's voice: "No matter where you are, whether it's a quarter-mile away or halfway around the world, you'll always be with me and you'll always be my brother." An overhead shot of the two cars, driving together, and they come upon a gentle fork in the road, Walker's white exotic drifting to the left, Diesel's silver Dodge staying on the main route. The camera pans up to the sun, and the screen goes blindingly white, with two words flashing onscreen: 'FOR PAUL'. Paul, you worked hard to earn all you had, and lived an amazing life with fame, well deserved success and a lot of cars. Such an amazing tribute at the end! Really sad that we will not see you grow to be an old man with a long, much celebrated career.. Your legacy will continue to live forever! Rest in peace...
  16. I have that habit as well -- reading old threads. It's nice to know what people have gone through. You beat smoking by just not smoking. No matter what. Time makes people stronger. Progressive life! ;)
  17. Please click here - We have been celebrating your anniversary there! Edit - this was NOT to imply a thread duplication, I just thought you would be happy that we have been celebrating your quit :) Congratulations!!!
  18. I see that you have already added friends, so that's covered! If you click on people's screen names here, it would take you to their page (profile) where you will see the options to send them private messages. Feel free to reach out to people, we'd be pleased to help you! We are happy to have you here, thanks for staying back :P - DW
  19. Congrats to you! How's it going? Less tears? Let us know! - DW
  20. Congratulations, cpk! Onwards and upwards!

Exactly my thought. Babs, I see what you did there :D
  22. Glad to hear you're doing great! Cigarettes will never be completely off our mind, which is normal. It all depends upon how you look at it. Exercising can be an amazing replacement for smoking. No tar. No stink of smoke. No damage to the lungs, nerve endings and the taste buds. No risk of diseases. :D We would love to hear from you, to celebrate your milestones/accomplishments and to help you whenever it is needed.
  23. Glad to hear the quit is rolling along just fine. it's normal to be tensed. Five weeks is an amazing accomplishment, congratulations! P.S: In case cravings hit you, imagine the pain and anger it might cause if you ever go back to smoking, ruining the hard-earned "balance" and the right mind set. The thought of that should keep you from even thinking of ever going back again :D

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
