Hello Pretty Gem, my fellow wine lover! :)
  2. I'm wondering if it is possible or can be made possible to tag someone. I'm sure you know what that means, but to clarify, let's say I'm in the Crock Pot thread and I mention Nancy's name cuz I know she has some great crock pot recipes. I'd like to be able to tag her so that she knows I mentioned her and can maybe add more to that particular conversation. Maybe we can try it if this feature is available, and if it gets annoying or people don't like it Admin can turn it off???
  3. I haven't made this before, so I have no idea if it is good or bad. I can tell you that recipes from this source have been pretty tasty, but slightly on the bland side - kinda missing that POP or Zing of flavor, but still yummy. :) Ginger-Orange Beef Roast Prep Cook Total 10m 7h 7h 10m 2½ lb boneless top round beef roast 1 sweet onion, sliced 1 cup all-natural orange marmalade ½ cup reduced-sodium beef broth 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar 1 clove garlic, minced 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro Place roast in a 5- to 7-quart slow cooker coated with cooking spray; top with onion slices. Whisk together marmalade, broth, ginger, soy sauce, vinegar and garlic; pour over roast. Cover and cook on Low 7 hours or until tender; sprinkle with cilantro just before serving. --------------------------------------------------------------- Serve with Roasted Sesame Vegetables 2 (12-oz) packages fresh steam-in-bag cauliflower and broccoli mix 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 tablespoon dark sesame oil 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Toss vegetables, olive oil, sesame oil, salt and pepper on a large rimmed baking sheet coated with cooking spray; spread in a single layer. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are browned and tender. Sprinkle with sesame seeds just before serving. Serve vegetables with roast. Sha-Zam

  20. So, I’m Petra, which only my Mom ever called me, but I love my online Petra identity. J I grew up in San Diego County and moved to Colorado when I was 23. My Mom is originally from Colorado, so I have a lot of family here. Twenty years later, I have a handsome husband of 15 years, two awesome kids, cows, chickens, bees, dogs and lots of wildlife around us (like coyotes, dear, elk, porcupine, a bear (only saw him once – thank goodness), hawks, etc. – not my in-laws. lol). Colorado is a great place to be married and raise a family, but I miss San Diego so much, especially during the dark snowy months like January. I often work on a plan to live in both places, but so far, that hasn’t happened. I'll keep dreaming about that! I started smoking young, like 13. I quit in 2007 for four years and very stupidly relapsed. My new quit is going strong – other than occasional junkie thinking that my AWESOME quitter friends help me kick to the curb. J I lost my Dad to cancer from smoking. L He was only 57, and I absolutely adored him. MEH!!! I’m still so sad he is gone. I look forward to reading all of your introductions and getting active on the Board. :)
