  4. Sorry you’re riding a rough wave, @darcy. Smoking was our go-to “soother” for a long time, so it takes a while to separate from that pull. The desire to smoke is just a memory… like recalling a boyfriend or girlfriend who treated you like s—t. It’s a vivid memory, but NOT anything you need anymore. Hold on, protect your quit, and you’ll make it to the other side.

  6. Easier long distance plane rides. Not being stinky. My fingers are finger-colored now, rather than a creepy yellow. Not battling the constant brain dissonance around loving/hating smoking. Freedom from chemical bondage. Meeting wonderful people here on the Train.

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
