  1. @Lilly , @Jet Black Sometimes when i stay away from cigarette my head feels a bit mental I have learned a few things from my last quit which lasted for 7 days I have not bought any cigarettes since the last 10 days , i think it is very important not to buy or keep any cigarettes with you if you are serious about quitting For me the craving is still there especially in the evening after 6 to 10 ... After that i do not think much about cigarettes . Anyway life for me for the past couple of days is like As Freud said, "Love and work..work and love..what else is there really?"
  2. @P2PLeon I do not know why you have to make vaping or smoking into a habit ? Both are like very bad habits I have avoided smoking since the last few days The time i crave the most is mostly in the evening after 6 to 9 or 10 . my head pretty close gets to mental without cigarettes . when the insanity reaches my own limit i eat a nicotine gum and then it goes away , then i feel normal Staying away from vaping and smoking i am sure makes you a better person a healthy person and a stronger person . Smoking used to make me weak , tired , dull and an energy drained person That cycle is there with or without cigarettes . So seriously try to stay away from vaping and smoking cigarettes . Put a little bit more effort for that everyday .Its worth it . That is why Then you do not have to worry about unnecessary diseases in the future .
  3. @Lilly I hate smoking to be honest . But i have some anger issues all the time whenever i try to quit smoking I become angry easily whenever i try to stay away from smoking It is like my brain is vibrating really fast if i do not give it cigarettes .I have no idea how to calm myself down sometimes And all these anger goes away as soon as i eat a nicotine gum .This is very weird , lol I have been drinking a lot of types of herbal drinks in warm water .It can be easily made with stuff available in your kitchen . It is supposed to flush the toxins out of ones body I hope it is playing its part too . Because i am very sure there is massive amount of toxins in my body from the past three years of smoking . My god , i never thought cigarettes would be this addictive .
  4. @Lilly Thanks for the reply Lilly I feel a lot more fresh at work , my face and my skin feels better too , lol I don't know why sometimes i feel like ruining it again . I have made chewing nicotine gums a habit Therefore easily fighting the cravings
  5. I would seriously recommend a pack of nicotine gum For me it might have been impossible to quit properly without using the nicotine gums 2 or 3 weeks on nicotine gum and you can easily stay away from cigarettes in my humble opinion Quitting cigarettes is not easy , but with gums you can see the difference quickly
  6. @StewieTech I think my account was more like on moderation Because some members thought i was trolling . I have no idea why that impression Anyway this is a new account , i think i might have conquered this smoking habit . I have been feeling good too since the past few days without any cigarettes Thanks to all the people who have understood my situations and supported me
  7. @Jet Black My other two accounts where , pottanramu (shaolinmonk) and merryxmas , lol Anyway ... It is the my 6th day without smoking I have conquered a lot of my bad habits Now i know the timings well when i feel like smoking the most , its those dull out of focus times i feel like smoking . But when i give it some time and do nothing it goes away too I remember smoking whenever i felt like i lost focus . I thought smoking helped me to focus suddenly . Anyway nowadays i am doing alright without smoking ... @StewieTech Thanks for the continuous support I am doing great , i feel a lot more relaxed these days without my smoking habit .I do not have to worry about the toxins that is going inside my body anymore ... “Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment. Full effort is full victory.” ― Mahatma Gandhi
  8. @babs609 I am going to take away nicotine gums away from life too , soon I still have no idea how one can quit without using gums , because sometimes the pull of the brain for a smoke is too hard . For me , that strong pull only goes away once i start chewing a gum . Otherwise i should be doing some other interesting activities , lol @StewieTech I am doing alright , but i have to eat at least 9 or 10 nicotine gums to fight the nicotine cravings I will stay away from that too within a week
  9. Thanks for all the replies notsmokinjo , Lilly , StewieTech , Octain I am doing alright i feel like a bit extra bored , nothing much to do sitting behind my laptop simply staring into this website and reading all the comments and all I did not go to work today , i took a day off and was sleeping most of the day time But there now there is no heating up of my face , no unusual rise of heart rates Those are all really good things I am still chewing the gum But i feel fresh , i feel calm I think i can easily do this Most of the time my head was focused on my new forum ticker and the smoke that was coming out of it Thanks for all the support
  10. @jillar Thanks i will try that , i will try everything , because the sort of freshness i get when i do not smoke is amazing . Earlier i had some trouble being energetic when i woke up in the morning but that is because i used to go to bed very late It was not the cigarette , it was my sleeping habit . When i get proper sleep i don't feel like an energy drained person in the morning , first i thought it was the cigarette .Its not , its just an issue related to my sleeping habits @notsmokinjo If i give up the gums right now i have this really uneasy feeling ... i guess i will slowly give up the nicotine gums too . My god , even though i joined this forum to quit smoking , i learned a lot more about managing my own life , lol @StewieTech I have tried the cold turkey way many times before , but i think why it did not work is because i had an empty feeling when i was doing nothing at all . This chewing nicotine gums is like a little activity on its own So i am going to stick with the gums for 1 or 2 more weeks That way i don't get too bored
  11. Thanks for all the replies StewieTech , Kdad , Lilly , Cbdave , albert , Octain , notsmokinjo Now i know its hard and at the same time simple too . I don't think i can quit the gums at this stage , because it easily stops my craving as soon as i eat it . Then no cravings for at least 2 hours , i guess that is because the brain gets what it is looking for I have no idea why because even after smoking this much i never had strong cravings this time , some uneasy feeling only which went away when i ate a nicotine gum Just came back from work and should avoid stress and am going to relax a bit with a hot tea
  12. Thanks for the reply StewieTech , Going to eat my second nicotine gum now Almost 3 hours without smoking , the only problem i am facing right now is boredom I think we always learn from our past problems I think our minds are always not that calm . Maybe i should keep my laptop away for a while and read some books instead
  13. Thanks for the reply StewieTech , This is my 5th attempt This time something is a bit different . I do not want cigarette , but some chemicals in my brain wants it Me and brain suddenly feels like two different things right now , lol
  14. This is very weird , i do not want to smoke anymore . I hate smoking It rises my heart rate It heats up my body and face I know all this . But I think my brain is struggling a bit and is asking for a smoke . It is like suddenly me and brain are two persons . Let me see if i can control my brain this time . Sorry brain , i do not have cigarette's with me . You can have a nicotine gum instead . I do not even like nicotine gum , but my brain is very restless . Now i get it . Its not me that wants the cigarette , It is my brain this time . I think it is feeling empty without the nicotine and is going through some sort of reaction , lol I personally seriously do not want the cigarette
  15. After few failed attempts . I got a lot of things right this time . I narrowed down a lot of things i like and a lot of things i hate . 1 and half hours without any smoke , feeling so fresh and happy already . No one puff ever again
  16. @WeegieWoman I am 33 years old ... started smoking at 30 only , smoked 3 or 4 cigarettes daily , started smoking around my wife's pregnancy ... i smoke outside only ...lol but since the last one year i am a chain smoker , i finish a pack a day Which makes me a sad person too ... i just figured out a few more things . when i am left alone behind my pc i am a very happy person .I feel peaceful and don't even think about smoking Then i stare into my Facebook and few websites i regularly visit .I feel very calm , cool , and happy I guess its when i have to deal with some people that i don't like is when i feel like smoking as a way to escape things i do not like . At least narrowed down a few more important things Nowadays whenever my brain shows craving i eat a nicotine gum and thus i am able to control it for few hours . I have a very good feeling that i am going to give away this smoking habit maybe right now , because i have sore throat and i was drinking warm water right now . I can do this . Why do i think i cannot do this ? Right now i do not have cigarettes with me and i am not planning to buy it either Maybe its time to put a proper forum ticker . This time i swear in the name of my god , i am not going to buy another pack . I personally do not even like cigarettes anymore , but its like my brain is a completely different person asking for more cigarettes Maybe its time to put a proper forum ticker @jillar , @reciprocity Thanks for the replies
  17. I don't know if this helps but these days i keep repeating these words to myself Relax , Relax , Relax ... Then i eat a nicotine gum .My cravings are gone for few hours . I am focusing a lot on relaxing techniques these days Whenever i feel mental without cigarettes i tell myself to relax I do not think we are naturally relaxed all the time , i think we are more restless most of the time , This could be confused for cravings Anyway next time you feel stressed out or restless , Try Telling yourself to relax . I am 1 hour and 17 minutes without any smoke . There is a lot of restlessness and it can be easily confused for cravings , But its not , Its just i am bored and i am looking for some other activities to kill some time If i cannot find any activities like that , because you cannot always find interesting activities to do . I simply tell myself to Relax , Relax , Relax . I am also trying to read a lot about relaxation techniques
  18. Thanks WeegieWoman , I have been googling all sorts of things from breathing techniques , yoga , meditation , Buddhism etc since past few months All of those does not always looks practical in real life . Everything is missing something . We do all those things to relax . So the key word here is relaxation itself . If none of the above works one should at least tell oneself to relax somehow most of the time under stress . Those simple words itself helps a lot Breath in , Breath out Relax , Relax , Relax ... I have been googling relaxation techniques since the past 40 minutes I am trying to find a book about the various relaxation techniques . Let me see if i can find a good book about it
  19. Thanks c9jane29 , I will try to do that , i think the only rule for me right now is that i should not make a lot of unnecessary threads I think i can still post in other peoples thread , i guess all i need to do is to stay on topic Right now i am trying to learn more about the relaxation techniques one can practice in daily life . I wish i could get a book on that
  20. Hello babs609 , I have been trying to narrow a lot of things down related to my very serious addiction . It happens everyday , the narrowing down process . I was able to cut down a lot of triggers that led me to smoking , improved a lot of things about my diet etc . A minute ago i was reading about the importance of relaxation techniques , i think that is what i have been missing . Automatically my mind is a bit of a mess due to number of things i have to continuously follow , like my studies From today on wards i am going to focus a lot more on the word relaxation techniques I always thought relaxation techniques was simply some breathing techniques to calm one down . That is not always the case . In times like these when addiction makes one restless and mental , all sorts of relaxation techniques are so important . Life is sometimes mental , sometimes dull , sometimes too much stress . There is only one way to deal with it . That is to practice all the relaxation techniques one knows I am going to continuously try to learn about it , starting from Friday 16/11/2018
  21. The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing
  22. Someday i have to conquer this addiction Addiction is something that makes you mental if you don't get it ... Most of the days i usually try to quit before the clock hits 12 o clock midnight . That is my most favorite time
  23. Thanks for all the replies bakon ,babs609 , WeegieWoman ,MarylandQuitter Thanks for letting me keep this account . Sometimes there are lots of things in my mind and it makes more sense when i write it down or discuss with other people Anyway i will do one thing , i will continue to use the blog That way i can at least write down all the important points
  24. Repeating a particular activity, even if only with the imagination, wires it more securely into the brain. Thus each attempt at self-discipline is worthwhile. There’s no such thing as failure unless one actually gives up and stops trying. Every attempt at self-discipline is a step towards accomplishing it. Even just thinking about it is a step in the right direction.
