April 17, 201412 yr Bummer. If anyone wants to edit The Sarge, they'll have to do it themselves. He says what he means, and means what he says. Easy Peasy
April 17, 201412 yr As long as posts are within our very liberal guidelines, there are no issues. All members can enjoy an environment without snide remarks being made about them. This serves no purpose and helps nobody. If you don't like something or somebody, ignore them instead of making snide, personal remarks that promote fighting. "Our guidelines are simple. If your post content, signatures, profile images, etc. are disruptive and impact our members' enjoyment of our community we may ask you to refrain from such actions or revoke your access to this community. We are just one of many online support groups that exist to help smokers rid their lives of this deadly addiction and to help those who have quit, stay quit. Therefore, we require that our membership abstain from posting any negative comments about other quit smoking message groups, their members, rules or philosophies. We're responsible for creating our own presence and all past issues should be left at the source. We're here to help and support one another and have some fun along the way. This is your community. Make it count for something."--MarylandQuitter
April 17, 201412 yr It happens. Many times, I find myself abandoning posts, because reading them to myself, they didn't say what I wanted them to say. I trust that the mods here will be honest and straightforward with me. Which is a good feeling.
April 18, 201412 yr So now entire threads are hitting the cutting room floor. Niiice ... Keep up the good work, boss, you'll end up the very thing you were trying not to be. Easy Peasy
April 18, 201412 yr So now entire threads are hitting the cutting room floor. Niiice ... Keep up the good work, boss, you'll end up the very thing you were trying not to be. Easy Peasy It was brought to my attention that certain threads were being copied and pasted to certain people that we don't want to mention who have asked for the password to this private forum. The threads are not deleted, just out of plain sight. Once I deal with the infringement, they will be back in view. My main priority in this protected forum is to protect those who post in it. Once a few more tests are completed, the threads will be back. :)
April 18, 201412 yr It was brought to my attention that certain threads were being copied and pasted to certain people that we don't want to mention who have asked for the password to this private forum. You can't keep folks from doing that. If one can see it, one can copy it. The music industry has been trying (quite unsuccessfully) to do such for 2 decades now and stepping on their d!cks the whole way. Let it be what it is. Easy Peasy
April 18, 201412 yr You can't keep folks from doing that. If one can see it, one can copy it. The music industry has been trying (quite unsuccessfully) to do such for 2 decades now and stepping on their d!cks the whole way. Let it be what it is. Easy Peasy Yes I can, actually. I can keep those threads where they're at. If folks want to copy and paste that is fine and I couldn't care less about that. But I have to be very mindful regarding postings about other sites that could be used as against me. I'm speaking from a legal point-of-view. Our guidelines state: We are just one of many online support groups that exist to help smokers rid their lives of this deadly addiction and to help those who have quit, stay quit. Therefore, we require that our membership abstain from posting any negative comments about other quit smoking message groups, their members, rules or philosophies. We're responsible for creating our own presence and all past issues should be left at the source. I think I've been very lenient with this particular guideline because I wanted members (and myself) to be able to respond to some of the accusations, lies and past differences that were/are going on. Although some may still hold onto harsh feelings, and rightly so, that ship has sailed and as I've stated it's time to move forward, at least publicly. This not about censorship or stifling anybody's opinions. It's merely from a legal standpoint which I must always be mindful of. I don't make money from this forum. I spend my money on it as a way to pay it forward and do my best to provide a friendly atmosphere for anybody who wants to be here. However, if I let a free-for-all to go on, I run the risk of getting into legal issues which is not something that I need to spend my time and money dealing with. I think you and everybody else can see where I'm coming from and if you can't, then you'll just have to accept that some things I cannot let stay visible even in this "private forum" because it's only private to a certain degree.
April 18, 201412 yr The Truth is always a valid defense in every legal situation ... and quite effective in libel/slander/and-the-like cases, too. The Sarge saw nothing but truth in any of the hidden/deleted posts. No sense in beating the horse anymore. :) Easy Peasy
April 18, 201412 yr Thank you and you do the same, Sarge. :) I have family coming in for the weekend and I've been looking forward to this weekend for a long time. We're going to have nice weather this weekend so until Monday morning arrives, I'm free! :)

Haha That movie gave me nightmares, my grandfather's name was Malachi and I didn't know what he looked like until a few years back. I always envisioned him to look like the one from the movie...
April 19, 201412 yr Author So now entire threads are hitting the cutting room floor. Niiice ... Keep up the good work, boss, you'll end up the very thing you were trying not to be. Easy Peasy Re: the bolded, It won't be any particular fault of MQ or for that matter any particular group within the dynamic when that inevitably comes to pass. The hierarchical template is the same so it can't do anything but evolve into whats in its coding. Sociology is way less complex than normally imagined. Even benevolent dictatorships eventually crumble, and the masses are to programmed to never give anarchist principles any room to operate in the aftermath of collapse. Our culture likes to pin its flaws on a particular individuals but that's just a red herring. Culpable does not equal blame.
