The egg shortage was way easier to weather than the butter shortage,... butter, who can live without butter... oh no wait.... when they ran out of meat at the supermarket cos the warehouse workers for the cold storeage went on strike... that was fun... unless you used your brain, walked two shops down and went to a butchers...

Then there was the gas crisis.... when something at the gas station blew a fuse and the whole of Melbourne had no gas for a month... most people have gas hot water service here... cold showers in September and October are not fun.... cooking was hard too because most people have gas ovens and stoves.
