The Smoke Whisper

Featured Replies

:Its funny after almost 4 yrs free I have that occasional smoke dream & since I got a raise "he" whispered you can afford to lite up or turn into a vaper.   Thank God these thoughts drift thru & I'm sure "the whisper" is damn heartbroke that I won't lite up. Of course that first yr was a battle but  it gave me the tools for my quit box to stay cig free. :dash2: :dash2: head banging a good way to stay smoke free.

I have an uncle who quit over 30 years ago and he still gets an occasional pang.  Nasty addiction.

I find those thoughts serve to remind me exactly why I will never get caught up again. The addiction we faced down will continue to make itself known every now and then I believe. Just thinking out loud but once upon a time as a smoker that scared me. That my sisters, quit for years, still thought of smoking and occassionally did but now I understand, it's simply a dumb thought and it passes through along with other similar dumb thoughts like, if I eat 5 chocolate donuts will I keep the same weight :)  NOPE all round which simply means making mindful and healthier choices. x

I don't believe the whispers ever go away.  That's okay with me....they remind me of where I was...and where I am now...and there is NO FREAKIN' WAY i'm going back.

It is amazing how addictive nicotine is! I wonder if people who quit drinking or doing drugs still have whispers. Any way, for us, you know that first cig would taste nasty and make us feel so bad that we had thrown away our quits
