October 16, 201411 yr Oh yeah! Canadian Thanksgiving. And I didn't even hear from the in laws after they had too much wine.
October 16, 201411 yr She commented on my Holiday Baking thread just before Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Would love to hear from my fellow Canadian as well! :)

October 16, 201411 yr Hey Guys! I am here, it was a hectic weekend I do apologize - lots of family and food :)!! I was actually just about to post regarding the one month mark. Once I saw this thread I smiled. :) Thanks for thinking of me ♥♥♥ I am not sure about any one else, but I am finding it getting a little bit harder. Not saying I would ever ever put that vile disgusting thing in my mouth, but the emotions are a little intense lately. I was so eager and brave at the beginning but just lately felt a little insecure about myself. I almost feel like I am starting to see the person I truly am - without the cloud of smoke around me. How did you guys find it further and further into your quit? Will it ever go away? Blessed be S
October 16, 201411 yr Aww honey, I remember this time. It might feel harder but in liklihood the thoughts are further apart so may feel more intense when you feel them - does that make any sense? lol. Don't be blindsided by the addiction reminding you that you use to smoke. Just smile and say to your brain ah we don't do that anymore thanks. It really does pass! I rarely think of smoking now. Nothing like those 1 month days. I remember whinging to my sister around the 6 week mark that I was plain fed up of smoking thoughts and they would never end - she just smiled and said wouldn't everyone relapse if it were awful forever!! Truely, it passes if you simply don't smoke each day. xx

And I am settled to know that I am not the only one who went through it - I was beginning to think there is something wrong with me lol. Thanks so much Marti :) ♥
October 16, 201411 yr It really does get better. Your early days (weeks, months) are like a rollercoaster. Ups, downs, twists, turns, lots of screaming and crying but at some point the ride will come to a stop and it will get better. It is a slow and semi steady recovery. Some days you may feel like you have it licked and other days you may question why you quit in the first place. Hold steady to those "good days" because they get you through the "bad days" and soon your good days out number your bad days until you quit having bad days at all.
October 16, 201411 yr Author My only bad day I've had was a little over a month into my quit. I don't know what it is, but it seems almost everyone experiences this phase in their quit. Just keep smiling, stay positive, keep posting and most of all enjoy your new life without that disgusting smoke. :) :) :)
October 16, 201411 yr Aww Slovenka, eventually you will start to realise how much smoking was holding you back! Yes, it is scary finding the 'new you', but I guarantee that you will like her better than the old smokey you, I promise! (((Slovenka)))
