My project this week

Featured Replies

So as most of you know, my shitty roommates finally moved out/were basically kicked out last night. Because Steve and I are decent people, we told them they could live with us and use our spare bedroom. My project this week is to transform this bedroom. It doesn't look all that dirty, but when they moved out, the room was disgusting. She had cups of moldy coffee and glasses of wine just living in the room. I haven't swept or anything yet.

Mikey says he would like to help. (His poor eyes. He has a dust allergy.)

You go girl!

I've finished my "project" for the week. Got my windows all cleaned and walnuts picked up before the snow flies :)

That reminds me... I should probably clean my windows too! :)

I bought winter boots today. Actual, proper boots that cost $180. For once, I think I'm prepared for my Canadian winter!

Leanna, I didn't realise that they had gone!! Where is the thread about it?! How did I miss it?! Did you get all your money that was owed?! I have to know, lol!!

Great news :)

Good to have a project, I'm sure it will turn out great!

And sorry about poor Mikeys eyes :(

Yup, they are gone! :) I talked about it in the curse word thread. No money yet except for the rent that was late. She's not talking to us anymore apparently, so I have no idea how we're going to get the rest, haha. I'm just happy they are gone! Steve blew up at her last night because he sent her an email asking when they were moving out for about the 20th time. She always avoided the question. One minute, they were moving out last weekend. The next, Wednesday. Then there was word that they were going to stay until this weekend coming up!

She responded back with an answer finally, but he also asked her why she seems to be avoiding me (and us). She was walking into the apartment without even saying anything, so half the time, we didn't know she was there! It's just common decency to say hi to the people you live with. But nope, she kept walking in here without saying hi or bye.

She responded with how she doesn't have time or the luxury to hang out with us because she has two jobs. She ALWAYS makes this excuse. How hard is it to give us a courtesy hello? We're not asking her to hang out. Anyway, it escalated into a huge fight and Steve lost it. Told her if she didn't watch her words, she'd come back to a locked apartment and how she should be grateful for everything we've done for her. She waited until 11:50 p.m. before responding and showed up at the apartment, packed her stuff, and moved. Sneaky bitch.

Yep, bitch is right. I'm really happy for you that you are free again! Hope you got your keys back (maybe change the locks anyway) ;) ((Leanna))

I bought a pair of WindRivers. :) I'll see if I can find a picture.

Here they are:

Love those Leanna, and they look super warm.

Thanks Sandy! I tried them on in the store and was walking around. They seem warm and comfortable, so I'm happy!

Good for Steve! Give him a big kiss from me. I'm so glad those parasites are gone. Action is right, however, if I were you I would change the locks. People like her can be very vindictive, you know. But, anyway, hooray that you finally got your peace and privacy back.

Love the boots. They look both warm and stylish. Good choice!

Thanks Chrys!

Yeah, I'm going to talk to Steve tonight about changing the locks. I know her boyfriend is supposed to show up at some point later on, but thankfully they don't have a key to our place, so he can't just barge in.

Steve's been amazing. He didn't even want to let them move in, but because they were our friends, I begged him. I feel really guilty, but he says he doesn't blame me. Her behaviour was downright ridiculous and childish. He almost didn't let them in last night because she assumed he would be sleeping when she sent the email and as they were knocking on the door, he was reading it. I didn't know about the email until afterwards. I was wondering why he was just sitting there, not letting them in for a good 5 minutes.

You did fine, Leanna. It's the natural order of things that women are soft and sweet and want to help and nurture the whole world. Men are tough and private and will happily do battle to protect their home and family against any intruder. It's the two genders working together at what each does best that makes a happy home and a peaceful world.

What are you going to domwith the room? Guest room?

What are you going to domwith the room? Guest room?

Craft room and storage. :)

Our apartment is really cluttered right now and we desperately need to free up some space. I am surrounded by boxes. I'm going to go through all the boxes this week, get rid of some stuff, and move some of it into the spare room!

Also going to set up an area for DIY wedding stuff.

Glad the leeches are gone, love the boots, can't wait to see the craft room!!

Thanks Tracey! We're both sad it had to end this way, but we're starting to realize they are better out of our lives than in. A real friend wouldn't treat us the way she did.

I haven't done much to the room yet because I've been super busy with homework. However, I just finished sweeping and mopping the floor. :) I'm hoping I get more time on Friday and this weekend.

  • Author

This is what I've done so far. I have much more to do, but between homework and cleaning up the apartment, I'm pretty happy with how much I've done.

They broke the handles off our laundry baskets, but whatever.

He's not at all happy with me. I think he thinks we're moving and he's freaking out.

Good job, Leanna! You accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. And, no, cats do NOT like change! But don't worry, he'll get over it. Now take some time to have fun tomorrow. Gotta keep things balanced.

  • Author

Definitely going to Chrys. :) We're planning on going out tomorrow. Got to run errands anyway.

He's running around the apartment right now. He did this when we cleaned out the room for them. They really don't like change, do they?

Yeah, it's amazing how sensitive and aware cats are to their environments. I remember one time I move a picture on a wall to another wall. My younger cat must have spent 10 minutes staring at the blank space and the new space and trying to reach high enough to sniff the painting and so on. I mean it was a painting of a frickin' vase of flowers or something, but the cat had to thoroughly inspect it and internalize the change! Imagine how they feel when you change a whole ROOM!  :shout:
