August 6, 201412 yr Long tedious day at work today. But do I think smoking would help in any way, shape or form? Oh Heck No! I remember stressful days like this as a smoker. Ughh...I would have smoked a half pack by 10:00 am! So very happy that I don't have to be that person any longer!
August 6, 201412 yr Stressful days happen to both smokers and non-smokers... I handle stress so much better as a non-smoker, as in I actually deal with it, rather than run outside to 'deal with it' by smoking. Well done for getting through a crappy day as a beautiful nonsmoker :)
August 6, 201412 yr Author . Ughh...I would have smoked a half pack by 10:00 am! (Quoting myself, lame, lol) I would have smoked a half pack by 10 and still wouldn't have the problem solved. I agree Action, we work "smarter" as non-smokers :)
August 6, 201412 yr Sandy, when I had days like this in the beginning, I always made sure to treat myself to a little something. That always helped me a lot. Have you treated yourself recently?
August 7, 201412 yr Agree with Action's treat suggestion, especially if times have felt hard work and you get through them. Good work at getting through some stress and not reaching for the dreaded cig. It really never did help us, although we convinced ourselves it did at the time. Non smokers function much better with stress as they don't need to break to puff. The brain looks at the problem rather than creating a need for more drugs. It does mean you will sometimes need to buy yourself some time and deep breaths or walking were really helpful to many before you. xx
August 7, 201412 yr Well said sandy, for some it takes a while for this to click but you got it girl I hope your day is alot less stressful today x
August 7, 201412 yr Yay Sandy - the realisation that smoking does not help stress is a major moment in your quit - so happy for you - you got this
August 7, 201412 yr Author Sandy, when I had days like this in the beginning, I always made sure to treat myself to a little something. That always helped me a lot. Have you treated yourself recently? I'm thinking a new haircut/color are in my near future. As soon as I find the time to get that done, lol.
August 7, 201412 yr I'm thinking a new haircut/color are in my near future. As soon as I find the time to get that done, lol. Taking back your freedom AND looking good while doing it - sounds good to me ;) And I know what you mean about time... How on earth did we find the time to smoke, I have no idea :p
August 7, 201412 yr You got this Sandy well done, I find im less stressed out now than I ever was when I smoked, I think when a problem arose when I was a smoker my first thought was cigarette, need one, now! then my stress levels rose if I couldn't go and smoke when I was at work, slap to the forehead, so much better being a non smoker xx
August 7, 201412 yr Sandy, I too used to smoke my brains out at work on stressful days. I would feel so sick with a sore throat, red eyes. Plus I would spend so much time outside smoking because of stress that I had less time to work! Not good.,yey, we are free
