  • Congratulations to you all boo, and thank you for sharing it all with us. Ten pounds?! That's a big boy! 🙂

Our Little Man Jackson is now 4 Months old ....

Taking in all that is going on around him....Have a happy day Cutie Pie ❤️❤️

Jackson is working on rolling over now.  He rocks side-to-side when he lays on his back.  I remember when Maddie started doing that.  Only a few weeks later and she was rolling all over the house.  May have another little tumbleweed rolling around soon.

He babbles a lot now and experiments with new sounds.  Every now and again he let's out with an "oh yeah"...he sounds a bit like the Kool Aid Man.

Games of peak-a-boo and ride a little horsey are Jackson's favorites.  I had him laughing so much at the "whoopsy little horsey, don't fall down" part last night we had to stop so he could catch his breath.

The general consensus is that as Jackson gets older, he looks more and more like his daddy.  Whether that's a blessing or a curse depends on your opinion of me I suppose.

Happy Birthday Jackson, you are an awesome little dude.

Happy 4th month, Kool-Aid man! 😉kool aid animation GIF by weinventyou

Update on that.  Jackson can roll from his stomach to back now.  He pushes up on his arms and really throws his head to one side; it's an abrupt move.  Maddie kind of fell into her rolling.  Jackson does more of torpedo roll.

The little man has starting eating some solid foods over the last week.  Started him off with some sweet potatoes.  We figured a couple of spoons full would suffice, but he kept making eating gestures with his mouth wanting more.  Hated to do it, but we had to cut him off so as not to push things.  He's got a round little Buddha belly on him, so he's just trying to maintain his physique.

His favorite toys are some soft blocks that have animals, numbers, and letters on them.  He particularly enjoys throwing them randomly in different directions.  Surprisingly good arm for such a little fella.

Jackson's next big projects are sitting up and standing.  He can sit upright for just a little bit before he starts to wobble and he is working his legs when he's held up.  The little man is getting it all worked out...and he has a coach in Maddie who's there to help him out.  She's been here for two years, so she has picked up a lot of wisdom that can be passed down.

Boo...have you seen these Bumbo seats ...special made to sit little babes in ..😁

Now that Jackson can hold his head up, he really enjoys his Jolly Jumper.  Maddie had a similar bouncy seat, she loved that thing.

Jackson bounces around and throws toys.  I crawl over and get them and bring them back to him.  And yes, I realize the boy is basically playing a game of fetch with me.

Jackson celebrated his five month birthday in style...lake style.  We went out on the lake with some friends.  The Birthday Boy played in the water a little bit, took a nap on the boat, and enjoyed some pureed bananas and blueberries.  Good times.

Happy Birthday little man.

Jackson Blan now has a half-a-year under his belt, six months-old today.  At his last check-up the boy weighed in at 25 pounds, 4 ounces, he's our little big guy.

The biggest development of late with Jackson is he can now pull up on things with a little assistance.  Once he gets himself braced, he can stand up for a while  He is trying to walk while holding on to things.  Does a good job bracing his weight on his legs but coordinating everything to move together is still a work in progress.  He loves to hold himself up by the big window in the living room.  Looks outside and babbles a lot, Jackson gives us a running commentary about what's going on in the front yard.

If Jackson is not in the mood for standing around, he can always hitch a ride with Maddie.  Jackson will sit in Maddie's wagon and she pushes him all over the house.  Maddie is the conductor giving instructions.  Jackson just grins and laughs.  Big sister is in charge, little brother is just happy to be along for the ride.

Jackson is happy, healthy, and carefree.

Happy Birthday little buddy.

Not saying that Jackson's birthday party got out of control, but he did have to take a bath after enjoying his supper last night.  The Birthday Boy managed to get sweet potatoes in his ears and hair.

The boy is a messy eater.

Aww Sorry to be late to the the Little Man's Party ...Sometime stuff just gets in the way ....

Happy 6 Months to our Prince ...

Sounds like you had a feast ...Hugs and more Hugs .

Mister Jackson celebrated his birthday at the aquarium on Saturday.  He seemed to enjoy looking at all of the critters and Maddie introduced him to the penguins.  Afterwards we went to a local restaurant for lunch.  The waitress was friendly and asked if anyone was celebrating a special occasion.  I told her that the little man turned seven months-old yesterday.  She wished him a happy birthday and the boy flashed a big grin, he smiles so big sometimes that he just almost falls apart.  The waitress fell in love with the boy on the spot and brought us free dessert: cinnamon roll bread pudding...tasty!

The boy is a real charmer.

Happy Birthday little man!

Jackson has started a new tradition at home without even trying.  The front room of the house was intended to be a formal dining room, but we're not really the formal dining types.  We put a couch, love seat, and some bookcases in there...the room never really saw a lot of traffic before.

There is a big window in there that has a ledge that is just the right height for Jackson to brace himself on.  He can put his little hands up there and shuffle back-and-forth to his heart's content.  Now that we have Christmas decorations up, it's nice to just sit there and look for a while.  We've spent more time in that room this week than we have since we bought the place.  And we were just following the little man's lead.

Another Christmas tradition is going to be completed tonight.  Ms. Burnette, a neighbor of ours and one of the sweetest ladies you could ever hope to meet, has finished Jackson's Christmas stocking.  She also made Maddie's first Christmas stocking.  I'm picking Ms. Burnette up at her house later, the only demand she makes is that she hand delivers the stockings to the kids.
