Quote taken from The Oral Cancer Foundation's article,

Cancer Risk of Nicotine Gum and Lozenges

"Scientists have discovered a link between mouth cancer and exposure to nicotine,

which may indicate that using oral nicotine replacement therapies for long periods could contribute to a raised risk of the disease.

A study funded by the Medical Research Council, led by Muy-Teck Teh, of Queen Mary, University of London,

has found that the effects of a genetic mutation that is common in mouth cancer can be worsened by nicotine in the levels that are typically found in smoking cessation products"

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
