  4. Hi @Ryan83 Welcome to Quit Train! I too am on my 2nd time quitting (first time was for 6 years), but this time it's my forever quit. Who wants to go through withdrawal a third time? Definitely not me!! You have definitely come to the right place for support! We are a really great bunch of people and many are quit more than ten years, but no matter how long we have been quit, we have all been newbies at one time or another. There is a lot of really good information on this site so please check it out. A couple of things really helped me get through those terrible early days and months of quitting. What I did in the beginning is I would take cinnamon sticks and pretend they were cigarettes, sucking in the air and pretending to blow it out. It did help and plus they tasted really good. If you don't like cinnamon, you can use cut up straws. What also helped me was coming on here every day. In the beginning I vented and complained a lot, but everyone was so helpful and nice. I would do the daily NOPE pledge everyday because I believe that is a big help. Even after almost 2 years of not smoking, I still do it. So that's my advice and Best of Luck to you!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
