6 Sticks don't cheat, we just count creatively.
  3. Speaking strictly for myself...The captain does not wear a hat. I just go where the conversation takes me.
  4. Hillbillies gettin' down. My people!
  5. Welcome aboard. Beacon already touched on the issue, but the idea of cigarettes calming anxiety is a myth. All smoking does is temporarily relieve nicotine withdrawal. When we smoked all we got for our efforts was a temporary reprieve from withdrawal, but all other underlying issues were not addressed by smoking. Cigarettes offer you no positive benefits. Quitting on the other hand offers a practically infinite number of benefits. When you break the chains of smoking, your confidence will be improved. There is a momentum started when we quit. That momentum has the potential to lead you to wonderful new places in your life. Here at the Quit Train you will find educational resources and great support anytime you need it. Check back in often.

  11. Happy birthday Sunnyside! May 21 is a great day for a birthday.
  12. Three is the magic number. Good work TAC.
  13. A day late for my own celebration. As usual my timing is impeccable. Thanks for the well wishes. I took the liberty to pick out a gif for you. One that adequately portrays the amount of excitement you must have felt upon hearing that it's my birthday.
  14. I hate that you're struggling, but love that you're working it. Just keep at it and the struggle will disappear. Good work Jess.

  16. Congratulations to Daisy and Joe. Great job. The title of this thread cleared up a mystery for me. I've seen Bakon make reference to Bigfoot and I had no idea who he was talking about. I wouldn't have guessed Daisy, but what do I know.

  18. If you have a son, you have to worry about your son. If you have a daughter, you have to worry about everyone else's son. BTW, I've never commented in this thread so I have to say, that is a really cute baby. Congratulations Action.
  19. Whatsamattu? Why you look so sad... Well, that's just great. Now I have that stupid song stuck in my head.

  21. I'm banging on the same point here, but...over the last couple of days I have been reading about something that is potentially a game-changer in how we view fitness. NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis). As researchers study this concept and evaluate the biofeedback it is becoming more clear that increased activity throughout the day is more important than a structured and timed workout. This is not to say that working out will not provide great benefits, but living more actively and partaking in more "non-exercise" activities is vital to a healthy lifestyle. For people looking to lose fat, maintain a healthy weight, improve longevity and mobility, and feel more energetic, people who increased their daily NEAT output saw better results than those who worked out for an hour but were relatively sedentary throughout the rest of the day. There are more scientific articles available online, but this one provides a good overview of NEAT... http://breakingmuscle.com/health-medicine/its-not-your-metabolism-its-your-neat-thats-stopping-your-fat-loss
