  2. NOPE
  3. Oh Evelyn, just talk to her and tell her you have to stay strong and keep your quit. If she is a good friend she will not smoke around you if it compromises you. Stay strong!!
  4. Congrats, awesome milestone!
  5. Nope!
  6. I have tried to quit numerous times in the past. Several times I quit because my husband did. I am sad to say I am probably the reason he always went back to smoking because I always did. I quit because my kids wanted me to. I quit because it was New Years Day. I quit because my doctor thought I should. I quit for all the wrong reasons. My husband quit 3 months ago and I told him I wasn't ready this time. The truth is I was never ready. I told him I would support him and be his biggest cheerleader and I did not smoke around him. I watched him on his journey and i am so proud of him. He is a strong man. I have smoked for 40 years. I quit this time because I do not want to smoke anymore. I quit this time because it is MY choice. I quit this time for ME. I really haven't had any panic attacks about needing a cigarette. I do not want one. My entire body has reacted to the poisons leaving it. That is my struggle. I don't feel good YET. I have terrible stomach issues. I am still without energy. I am still gaining weight. I sill do not want to smoke. I know that all of this will get better. I have the mind set to be successful. I have the strength to work through all of this because I am ready and this is for me.
  7. Thanks everyone! I will try the suggestions. My husband quit 3 months ago and I am so proud of him. We have saved a ton of money! I have always wanted a Grandfather clock, so last weekend I bought one at an estate sale with the money we would have spent on cigs. The clock chimes every 15 minutes and every 15 minutes I am proud of what we have accomplished. I am thankful for the reminder and the time we have added to our lives by quitting.
  8. I have been reading the forum and it does help to read that you are not alone in the struggle. I quit smoking 03/26/15. My struggle is the withdrawal symptoms. I do not want a cigarette at all. I have had stomach issues from day 1. The bloating and gas is very uncomfortable and aggravating. I have been working on diet to see if that will help. I have gained weight but I am not going to worry about that right now. I guess the only good thing about feeling like this is, I will definitely stay quit because I do not want to go through this again! I smoked for 40 years and tried to quit countless times. I have never gone this long without smoking so I am feeling great about that! Thanks to everyone that posts with praise and help. i could sure use suggestions for the stomach issues.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
