  2. I'm glad you had success with it. I got really sick on Chantix. Couldn't tolerate its side effects. My dreams were crazy! Patches worked in the past, I'll stick with them. Wishing you well! 😄

  4. I smoked for 40 years & had never really tried to stop, but as I was getting older & becoming more health conscious I thought I really need to try & give up the cigarettes. I started with the champix, set my date & off I went, almost 6 years later I am a non smoker & even detest the smell of it. I had no side effects what so ever, I love not being a slave to smoking anymore.

  8. Thanks for the comments. I love the support here. I have it at home and my wife is a tough one when it comes to me quitting. I just need to be strong and trust my journey away from tobacco. The patch helped me before. I trust it will again, forever this time.
  9. I am not going to smoke today. NOPE.
  10. Hi Sal, I recommend to read as much as possible about nicotine and nicotine addiction. Also watch the stop smoking videos. Knowledge helped me to understand what was going on, why and that it was temporary! I quit 10 months ago, still remember the tough first weeks. But after that I start feeling better. So much better. If you quit today you will feel so good on the 14th of October!!
  11. I don't recommend Chantix. It made me also feel miserable and puked my brains out on it. Bad stuff! For me anyways and many others in my family. The patch worked for me but it's still not easy as I have fallen off the wagon again. ☹️ Dreams are my dilemma concerning smoking. Always looking or trying to find a smoke. Like you, I struggle to quit again. What did it for me was being hospitalized for 2 weeks without a cigarette and only the "patch" to save me from cravings and withdrawals. Being strong is the key and staying busy away from whatever you smoke. 😄 Wish you luck and hope we can both kick the habit!
  12. Thanks again all! I cancelled my upcoming breathing test. Not ready and don't want to waste anyone's time plus need to get my Covid and Flu shot. I still wear a mask when inside at medical facilities such as the hospital where it was supposed to take place. I need to get this habit kicked before doing so. I did it before and I know I can do it again. Need to be stronger and more willing. Not having too much trouble with cravings after meals and try to minimize how much I do smoke. Having troubles sleeping. Seeing myself at times searching for a smoke in my dreams. It's so disturbing and frustrating. I'll be 60 on October 14th and want to give myself a present to quit on that day if at all possible. : ) I love this website because everyone here is or was a former smoker and know exactly what I'm going through. I also suffer from anxiety and depression. Both being taken care with medicine, but the anxiety is creeping up on me about all and everything. My dad died in 1992, at the age of 58 from a heart attack. I don't want that for me and wish to live a lot longer. I know that it's the right choice to quit now before things get even worse. Please comment anyone. Take care!
  13. Hey there @Unome sorry to read you are going thru crap and haven't even quit yet. I really can't tell you much about using Chantix as went cold turkey and I was in hell for about 6 months. I'm sure someone will be along soon that can share some Chantix experiences with you. Good luck and I hope you can get this issue sorted out.
  14. I’m in hell. I’m on a quarter of the total amount of Chantix that will eventually be taken and I’m already miserable. My head is buzzing. Feels like I’ve smoked 10 Marlboro reds and I’ve only been on it for 2 day. I haven’t quit yet (I’m tapering cigarettes while higher doses of Chantrix every day. If I feel bad now with .5 a day, what happens when it’s 2 mg a day???
