  • Overall I would say the day was a success!!!! Didn't smoke and that is all that matters right now..I ended up walking Waaaaaay more than planned, miles more...my lungs in sad shape, unanticipated stres

  • A reward is a good thing. Small ones for each day when new. A candy bar or a magazine. Something to say good job. Don't worry about MM as long as you don't smoke. NOPE say it 1000 times if needed. W

  • Parsley, you can do this!  One minute at a time if necessary.  If you smoke, you will have to start all over.  It is okay to cry, scream, rant, rave, shower until the hot water runs out, eat everythin

Thanks to you who responded...not sure why lack of support...was looking for that and acountabilty here..but I trudged forward anyway..didn't have the right....whatever required..good luck to all!

Sorry you feel you are not being supported here Parsley. My intentions were to encourage you in the early part of your quit, not coddle you. Most of us need that encouragement as we struggle to get comfortable as non smokers. Your recent references to "no bodies"  "no dead bodies" suggests you are having issues with either anger or anxiousness which are both very common emotional reactions many of us have particularly in the early part of our quits. These are things you will find ways to deal with and they will also resolve themselves as you become more comfortable with your quit. Again, you have to just power your way through those early days and it does get easier in a relatively short period of time.

I hope you you hang around as we all need that added ingredient of human support to help us along the path of quitting. We will all do what we can to give you that support.

Hey, I just want to say congratulations on your new smoke free life. It's ok to be a bit bitchy early days, it's such a shock to the system I think but the best shock you will ever get I promise. Each time you NOPE a thought you get stronger. It's all good, do whatever you need to do to keep taking steps forward. xx
