March 4, 201511 yr Wow! Had a normal night's sleep. I went to sleep and slept and woke up early without alarm, feeling great. No weird dreams. Just normal restful sleep. Everyone here keeps saying it gets better...and it's the truth!
March 4, 201511 yr Ahhhh..I'm so happy for you! That was tough for me as well. Seemed like it took forever to get the sleep pattern back. Once I did, it was smooth sailing :)
March 4, 201511 yr So many positive things that we never thought about until we quit. I don't think we realized to the full extent of our suffering until we quit smoking.
March 4, 201511 yr Eons ago when working on health/fitness (as a smoker mind you  ), we had NSVs (non-scale victories) to indicate the benefits we were experiencing beyond a number on a scale. I'm still having NSVs but now they're non-smoking victories. Today's NSV was smelling the fabric softener on a workout shirt that had been sitting in a drawer for who knows how long. Pulled it on and thought whoa..smells good. Seems the old sniffer is waking up more and more each day.
March 5, 201511 yr Author So many positive things that we never thought about until we quit. I don't think we realized to the full extent of our suffering until we quit smoking. So right, MQ. I was insane when I came on this site -- insane with the pain of smoking damage -- and insane with the pain of going through the quit's early stages. People are saying cuz I'm a month in the worst is behind me. And I hope so because it was really a hellish month...the worst quit I have EVER experienced -- physically and mentally. I am so glad to be where I am right here, right now. So deeply grateful -- and so thankful to all here.
