July 23, 201412 yr bug me sometimes. Out of the clear blue sky, every so often, I feel the tug. Of course WE ALL KNOW, without a doubt, that I'm not caving... but what is he... an idiot? Does he really think he's got ANYTHING at all to offer me? Does he really think I'm THAT stupid to think that he's got something I want, or need? Will he EVER give up? He's a royal pain in the ass sometimes... I'd sooner do this than smoke...
July 23, 201412 yr I know it is annoying. But there is so much time in between these thoughts that it is amazing.
July 23, 201412 yr Author True dat. It's not hard to swat those thoughts away anymore... In fact, most of the time I can't even believe I once smoked. It seems so strange to imagine putting this stick between my lips, lighting it, and sucking the smoke deep into my lungs... WHY did I ever DO that?
July 23, 201412 yr It's not nicotine you want. It a sense of enjoyment or relaxation. Treat yourself to a margarita and watch the sun set. Or traffic go by. You just want a small thank you to yourself and you deserve it
July 24, 201412 yr I think its the addict in us that makes us want to stratch that old itch every so often. For me even with over 2 1/2 yrs I still get odd urges. Not as a test but you figure look how many yrs/decades we smoked so its just odd urges trying to corner us but with the more freedom we have the more its so easy to just laugh it off.
July 24, 201412 yr Author You're right of course... all of you. It's not the nicotine any more.... it's the "aaaahhhh" feeling of reward. Funny how smokers think of killing themselves by inhaling deadly chemicals as a "reward", though... as in "I worked hard and deserve to be rewarded by sucking on a cancer stick". Yeah, that makes sense. NOT.
July 24, 201412 yr Christa, We smoked a long time ,so I suppose it's gonna time time to rid of them altogether in our thoughts.... I know what you mean ,we don't want them ,but they are still in our minds......crap...... One day at a time......they will fade and vanish forever..... Hugs
July 24, 201412 yr Author I know, Doreen... the brain is on automatic pilot sometimes... no biggie, really, just a minor annoyance as in "what the hell? Go away!".... :-D
