Ever since i started this journey of quitting I have been interested in the efficacy of psilocybin for smoking cessation.  So I found a company that is supposedly working on bringing a product to market and the study at Johns Hopkins showed a cessation rate of 80% in a small scale with a single dose.  So if you are interested in this at all the company is Mydecine and the ticker is MYCOF on the OTC exchange.  As an experiment I will take what I spend on cigarettes on a monthly basis and buy shares using a dollar cost average strategy over the next 2 years.  Current price is $0.28 per share. I will make my first purchase tomorrow of 625 shares which is the money i haven't spent on cigs over the last 7 weeks.  I don't know what will happen and if it goes to zero i haven't lost anything since the money i'm spending was getting burned up and the ashes dumped anyways.  However, if they are successful in a bringing a product to market that works we all win.  This is just me spinning my gears and keeping my mind busy so don't take this as investment advice since i'm not a financial advisor.  I'm a reforming cigarette addict that's hoping somewhere out there God gave us an out if we can find it instead of living the rest of our lives beating cravings on a daily basis.

I find that interesting. I will have to research.  A long time ago we got a tip about sandisk from my husbands cousin.  I was scared so we did not invest. That cousin now owns a beautiful vacation home on a lake outside of Austin.

I had a whole first crappy year quit and looking back I'm glad I did because I remember how much it sucked every time a stupid crave reared its head so I'm glad I didn't have an easy out.

I'm moving this to Off The Record 😊

@jillarthanks for getting this in the right category.  having quitting be difficult isn't a bad thing in the long run but it sucks to hell and back in the short term...😅

  • Author

@Kriskeep in mind it's an OTC stock so the chances of it going to zero is much greater than it ever actually doing anything productive.  but it's cheap enough you can put your cigarette money into it and get a decent size position.

MYCOF is looking like it will open at .34 so i'll have to adjust my order.  This will be fun to see what it does if anything over time

  • Author

for some reason it was hard to get a fill on my order so i changed it and had to wait for few hours but finally got filled for 1000 shares at .271.  That's about 2 months smoking expense so we will see where it goes.

Closed at .2801 so i'm up $9.10 from my entry.  Covered my commission for entry.

@jillarnow that I got the ticker on my signature i've got good news and bad news.  the good news is that i got some added motivation.  the bad news is now i have to buy 400 more shares of this crap ticker.   🤑

it is pretty awesome.  thanks again for the assist.  I tell ya, some days i just miss the details anymore.  I'm hoping once I get through this initial crush of cravings I can get back to my keto diet and fasting regiment.  that might get my focus back

bidding for another 500 shares at .27.  that will be a little over my budget so I'll have to wait till the end of november to add anymore but I like to buy in lots of 500 as a minimum.

no love on getting my order filled today.  I'll leave it where it is and see what happens tomorrow.  Closing price was .2897.  that covers all commissions so anything above that I actually make a few pennies

Still watching MYCOF.  any catalysts might be a ways off so i'm biding my time and watching for price dips to add.  In the meantime I had a call option in BKKT (VIH) that i paid $5 for and sold it for $1010 yesterday.  Nothing like snagging a 20000% gain even if it is only on five dollars.  LMAO.

oops I did it again.  Sold the last contract that I bought for $5 today.  Got $2010 for it for a 40000% profit.  Doesn't seem real but sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.  Still watching MYCOF.  Going to do a little accounting this weekend and see what kind of cigarette money I got available.  The price is slowly bleeding off so I'm not in any big hurry to add but at the same time I want average in on a somewhat regular basis.  Hell, it's only money though and they print that shit from nothing so it's not like it really matters.  LOL

MYCOF....got a little spare change left in the quit jar so putting in a bid for 1000 shares at .229.  If i get filled that will give me an average price of .25 and I'll be -$15 in the quit jar so I'll have to stay quit for at least another week plus a few extra days to cover the commission.  They did release some news today on filing a full patent application for nanoemulsion technology.  sounds cool AF.

Well, I got filled at .226.  I guess the market was feeling generous today.  Total position right now is 2k shares at .2485/sh.  Outlay is $510.90.  Should have that paid for by not smoking by the middle or end of next week....unless this thing decides to moon before then.

Ok.  So a quick recap.  I'm out $510.90 for 2000 shares of MYCOF.  This includes all costs for shares and including commissions.  My ticker says I've saved $485.06 so the quit jar has an IOU of $25.84.  In 4 days I'll have the IOU retired and I can start the process of collecting money for the next buy.  Here's to a finding another successful edge to beat the demon.

Another stock I've gotten into is VERB.  I think they could be like a Netflix and Amazon rolled into one, i.e.  shoppable entertainment.  Have you ever been watching a show and see something on the show like a shirt or a pair of boots and wish you could find that product and buy it?  this company has the tech to make it possible to buy products right out of the video.  Personally have never had that happen and think it's a crap idea which is why i bought some.  Facebook and Peleton coulda had me living on a beach somewhere but I thought both of those were complete shit ideas.  Anyhow, if a company based on a tv duct taped to a stationary bike can hit a market cap of $45 billion I don't see why this couldn't do at least a tenth of that which would put it at about $63 a share.  Trading at $2.20 right now.  This is a really shitty way to value a company but it's all i got.  I'm not betting my life savings on it but I'll take a loan out on my cigarette savings and get a few shares.  If you decide to play do your own research cause this dog still has fleas.  just sayin'

so I have $265.84 in the quit jar now.  VERB is trading at around 1.55 and MYCOF is trading between .11 and .13.  I can get 2000 shares of MYCOF or 170 shares of VERB.  I think the smart thing to do is to get the 170 shares of VERB since their on line mall is set to launch in February, verbMail pro is set to be done and launched by end of year for MicroSoft Outlook (free version is already available) and the gMail version is set to launch by end of year.  The only thing about all this is that the CEO seems to always be way to optimistic about when things will be done so I'm guessing end of 1st quarter on the verbMail applications and middle of 2nd quarter for the on line mall.  Still think this company has a lot of potential since the shoppable livestream market is set to be 400 to 500 billion by 2023 and it's still in it's infancy and VERB has global connections

MYCOF on the other hand is still in the research phase with a product that may never get approval due to the stigma of being attached to an hallucigen but I really do love the concept it has.  Decisions decisions.....

quick update...VERB will be discussing it's on line mall at the Benzinga conference tomorrow.  This is not the news the market wants so if there is blood today I will buy VERB and wait to build up some more quit cash before getting anymore MYCOF
