Almost 1 month

Featured Replies

I am about 3 or 4 days out of 1 month quit and I just don't want to do it anymore. I started the day I turned 18 and May 2019 will be 20 years. I quit for a second 10 years ago but I don't remember it being this hard emotionally.

Welcome ky, congratulations on almost a month quit. You're almost done with the hardest month of all :) We smoked for a long time, myself 35 years, so it's normal that there are a lot of emotional ties to smoking that need to be cut. The good news is that as each time is cut we get stronger emotionally. So with each week that goes by it will get better, I promise :)

Hi Ky513 and welcome....congrats on being at the one month quit milestone!! Yes, it is hard emotionally especially when you have smoked a long time...for myself it was over 40+  years!! It helps to read, read and then read some more of what is here and to watch the videos and then participate here. Educate yourself about the addiction and take it one day at a time....NOPE every day!!!

First month usualy sucks, quits become better after that and the benefits more visible. Don't stop, you've achieved so much already!

You quit on 17th of September... its 17th of October today (well in the lovely Land Down Under.... not sure where you are, you might have a day to go).... so of course this quit will be different than a decade ago because you are different. The first month is the hardest.... the worst.... don't have gone through all that just to stumble now and give in. You are one day or a few hours off being 1 month smoke free.... so close Ky.... don't throw away your hard work.

You just don't want to...smoke?? anymore?

Of course you have emotions!! You are finally able to have feelings without numbing them, how exciting!

3 days, 3 weeks, and the 3 month mark are times in the quit when junkie thinking starts creeping in because you can "justify" quitting your quit at this point.

"Oh, it hasn't even been a month yet?"

"No one really cares if I quit."

"Well, I can try again soon."

These are lies, lies, lies that dying receptors will tell you so you will feed them drugs again.

These moment make your quit...do you want it bad enough to fight for it? It's your life in the gamble.
