First official gold goes to Bermuda for the girls triathlon, with silver to england and bronze to Canada... And we believe there were Aussies in the race. We are not sure where they are.

 

Fact: this is the first Commonwealth Games where the women can win as many medals as the men.

 

Fact: youngest athlete is 11 in table tennis, oldest is in there 60s in lawn bowls.

Canadian swimmer just got a bigger cheer than the Aussie girls... Because her grandma died last night and she's still swimming and dedicating her swim to her grandma... 

We have more medals....

Men's weightlifting... Gold Malaysia, silver India bronze Sri Lanka.

 

Men's triathlon... Gold Sth Africa, silver Australia and bronze Scotland ...Aussies 4th... NZ 5th.

 

Been watching the men's team gymnastics.... At the moment Australia is in silver behind Cyprus ... But section 3 haven't competed yet and it has the big guns... Eng, Canada & Scotland... Little girl in the crowd about 5 with a sign bigger than her that said "good luck everyone" frickin cutest thing ever.... Nigerian hurt his feet on the floor at the start if the routine but finished it, took too long cis he kept resting between tumble runs... Huge cheer and standing ovation from all the other gymnasts as he hobbled off last seen with both feet packed in ice.... Young kid from Malaysia fell off the pommel twice had to get back on and do a dismount... Did it with the crowd going balastic. Love the spirit you only ever get at a big games event.

Weegie don't be Watchin the netball...those pommy bitches were up by 20 at half time....they are so much taller the the Scottish lassies.

Normally I'm all about the fair play BUT when the Scottish GD bumped the English GA and she went flying and then the GD turned to the GK and gave her a high five..it was a definate highlight.?

Just flickin between the hockeyroos playing the the Canadian girls ... Not sure the Canadians get hockey on grass...and the men's team gymnastics part 3... Why do gymnastic boys have such awesome ripped bodies but their all frickin short arses... 

So the Aussies have a rivalry with England and New Zealand and Sth Africa.... But if we can't win we want New Zealand to win (like sibling rivalry, I wanna beat me brother but if I can't noone else better) Scotland and england have a rivalry but.. Noone gas a rivalry with Canada.... Why? .... Do they have a rivalry with the USA.

 

@reciprocity all credit to your hockey girls...left it all on the field in a hard 1 point loss to the hockeyroos.... Played without a goalie for the last 2.5mins so they could have an extra field player and didn't conceded a point.

 

@Sslip how the Frick can the best boy gymnast in the england team be born in Australia... Wtf????...Canada and Scotland are both choking ATM... At this stage its eng, Canada, Cyprus but Canada is tanking on the vault which might push the Aussies into bronze.

England is a shoe in for gold in the men gym teams. But bronze is coming down to the wire and he last rotation...can you say Scottish come back.

She is frickin awesome.. We had an interview run here of her and she is so cute and the oldest athlete who surprise, surprise is playing lawn bowls... it was like w .. my kid is super jealous cos she's 12 and despite having access to pingpong tables everywhere and a friend who is in our para team she can barely hit the frickin ball..hahaha 

 

Jersey had the upset of the games so far beating the favourite Aussie mens 3 for their lawn bowls match... OMG where the fruck is Jersey and do they have good caramel?

 

 

Jersey is between England and France, famous for their milk and tax breaks (at least in the past).

 

It has a population of about 20, so the Aussie team should hang their heads

But do they have good caramel???

And wots with the spinning legs on the isle of mans flag... that's just wacky... of was it founded by 3 pirates and the flag represents each of them?

Omg... Aussie para triathlete stacked his recline bike, broke the handle/pedal and us still going... Frickin  legend..... Pom just passed the other Aussie in the lead... But chaffy has fought Hus way back to third with a broken bike.. No in the racing chairs for the run.

 

Do you guys get the Aussie commentators or have ya own cis the gymnastic commentators are like pitch perfect...she knows her stuff and he is, well questionable 

..... North Ireland guy on the pommel and about to do his travel...."well being from northern ireland he should be pretty good at this travelling part".... '*$%&5 will have to be careful, if he keeps smiling like that he will be kicked off the Scottish team"....it's just weird.

 

We have our own BBC commentators for the games. Pretty mundane stuff.

Will do a medal tally update about 6pm my time so in just over 4 hours...  But slippy should be happy POM's are on clean up duty at the moment.

Funny Story from day 2: Bus driver for the Grenadine beach volleyball went to the cycling 102km (63mile) in the opposite direction.... But dont worry mates, the QLD coppas were on hand to give a police escort they got there in time to compete but nearly missed the start of there game because they were all taking selfies with the cops.
