    Totally here! :)
  3. How you feel so outweighs and weight you will gain! And yes, hair, nails, skin, teeth - all look better without a nasty ugly stinky cigarette hanging out of your mouth. Energy also increases, so many people have gotten into a more regular and rigorous exercise routine. A little discomfort in the beginning of your quit will lead to so many benefits!

Doreen - I think you were 12. Nick the Stick threw us off and Stewie snuck in there. :) I'm 11. Let's show the newbie how chicks win!
  15. Way to hand in there Nik the Stick! In the beginning, people may irritate you more for sure. Tell them to f/o (to yourself, of course) and take the high road. Know that others around you probably know that the other guy is being a prick and see how you are going above and beyond to cover his ass. Take the extra work as a distraction to keep you from having to go run out and smoke - no time for that if you're busy working. And you are in no way troubling us!!!!! We love giving back! We were all in those early days and posting often and reading all the replies was a huge part of our success. We want to help you succeed! Also, regarding the patch, I agree with MQ, they are keeping the nicotine in your system and prolonging withdrawal. Cold turkey is an awesome way to go and gets that nicotine quicker. Your cravings might be a little more intense for a few days, but as the good ole Sarge would say, "Embrace the Suck." Post again soon!
  16. You'll always be my quit buddy, Sonic! :)
  17. You definitely get there! I'm not sure when it happened. One day, you'll be just going along, and suddenly be like, "Wow, I haven't thought about smoking all day or in a few days or a while or whatever." It's such a great feeling. :) It won't take long. Keep saying NOPE, and it will be here before you know it.
  18. Becoming a non-smoker is so freeing! I love seeing others succeed and helping when I can.
  19. Regarding a plan - have some snacks ready. I used to love eating pistachios or peanuts from the shell. Gave me something to do with my hands and mouth. Chips and salsa was another favorite snack - the hot salsa didn't go well with smoking. Also, be ready to put off your craving - tell yourself, not now. I will not smoke at this moment. Maybe in an hour. That will give the craving time to pass. In the same token, try not to struggle with yourself about it. In failed attempts, I would get into this "I want one" "I don't one" I have to have one" "I'll just smoke this last one and that will be it for sure!" "Oh my, I want one so bad" Those internal arguments so often lead right back to smoking. Decide you want to stop, then stop.
  20. Check in here if you can! Post a number in the chicks and sticks game. :) Make a phone call. I love the tea idea or a healthy snack. Walk around the building. Read motivational quotes to try to stay positive. Take some deep breaths\Meditate. Enjoy that you don't have to go out and smoke!
