Thanks for the responses... you are right Fay..they could have done some damage... last week I transferred quite a bit of money to those accounts. My "other" house needs a roof and a new furnace, which I just got estimates for and at "this" house I am putting in a blacktop drive and just got an estimate for a small expansion to the upstairs (adding a full length shed dormer)..so I transfer quite a bit so that the projects I decided to go forward with, I had the money for a deposit on hand. . Yes Ross...I am looking forward to Mondays event!.. . And for any of you who work in banking..I thank you for your diligence. I am sure a computer program "kicks out" suspicious transactions to be brought to your attention, but if it was ignored, a lot of people would lose plenty of money.. My Bank is locally owned and operated with about 6 branches total.I really like the personal service I get.
  7. Just got back from a "lunch date" with my oldest granddaughter and when the time come to pay, my card was refused!!! How embarrassing!..Good thing she had a little cash with her,as I didnt have quite enough to cover it, or we would be in the back room doing dishes right now :( ... I really need to remember to grab some cash before I leave the house.I have become too dependent on my card working..and ..I only carry the 1 (credit/debit tied to checking account)...all others I leave at home..I dont use them.. Before I got home, I stopped by the local bank and used the ATM and my balance was what I expected it to be in both my savings and checking...but when I tried to withdraw some cash, it kept declining it. As I come into the house, I hear my answering machine beeping (yes, I still have one of those..lol) as it turns out it was the fraud department of the bank and I needed to call them back and confirm purchases I made in Bangladesh and Great Britain among numerous States and web sites...Needless to say, I didnt make those purchases, so I just got done cancelling my cards... the good news is, the fraud dept. caught it early, and even though they tried to use it in MANY transactions , less than $5.00 in purchases were approved... The bad news is, at 7am on Monday morning my wife and I will be at the local hospital anxiously awaiting the arrival of our granddaughter..and with today being Sat. I am stuck with the little bit of cash I had before the card got shut down and cant get more until the banks open and I go there in person... it could have been worse, but just the inconvenience of it p!sses me off ! Ok..just venting...now I will return you to your regularly scheduled topics :)

  17. Yes Jimmie..as MQ said, there is more than likely a latch on it that needs to be slid or pushed in order for it to open....Using a butter knife on a computer is a no-no ;) lol ... if you have any questions about it, do like (sober) Julie would recommend and have one of your 12 year old students on the bus answer them for you...they were born with this knowledge....they didnt have to learn it...lol Seriously......being new, it shouldn't ever need to be forced open...it has to have a catch on it somewhere......
  18. Thats great Mel!! Spending time with your little one on his big day (coincidentally) while celebrating a huge milestone yourself is priceless...It solidifies the whole reason we have chose to stop killing ourselves! I am just a few days behind you in my quit and have admired how you have handled your journey. Again, coincidentally, my 6th granddaughter will be born the day after my 6 month anniversary...seems kinda fitting... Don't ya just love life at times like this!??
  19. Wait until I share my vacation pics with everyone...lol (Bahamas in Nov.)
  20. Are you seriously telling a grandfather that you are looking forward to pics of his kids/grand kids?...lol... I love my phone because my wallet only used to hold the most recent photos of the girls....my phone has 100's on it at any given time...lol ..careful what you wish for..I can keep you occupied for hours.
  21. Way to go Evelyn !!...Doesnt it seriously make you proud to say that?..Its like you accomplished the unimaginable!!! Keep the quit strong...you will always be proud of quitting...I dont think you was...or ..ever will be proud of smoking!

  23. Well, as of Monday morning, I will become a grandfather...again...for the 6th time. The wife and I currently have 5 granddaughters, and Monday, (daughter #2) will add the 6th one. :girl_hide: The title says 10 in a row...because thats the count for me and my wife.... 4..daughters...and 6.. granddaughters :girl_cray2: :girl_pinkglassesf: :tender: :girl_dance: :girl_in_love: :girl_witch: I am certain that my older 2 daughters have called it quits with having children, so i guess its up to the youngest 2 to see if the string of 10 in a row gets broken....lol Daughter #3 has been married for 3 years, and has a few medical issues, but is getting them under control, so they are "talking" about starting a family soon....and daughter #4 is not, nor do I believe interested in, being married at this time...She loves her job and the freedoms she has, so Im pretty sure the record will stand for a little while yet :P in case there is any confusion from some that may be having Deja vu ...my oldest daughter just gave birth in November to her newest little daughter (Josie)..I am not sure if I mentioned daughter #2 being pregnant at that time... She is scheduled for a C-section Monday morning and as long as all goes well, Zoe will be with us in time for dinner . I am making the "announcement" today because I dont think I will be around for a few days..My oldest granddaughter (15 y ears old) is staying with us this week-end, and my wife is scheduled to work, so I am entertaining her...lol...I think a round at the local golf course is on the agenda (she is on the High school golf team)...I had ticket to the local drag strip and was going to watch some racing today, but she isnt into cars....so..maybe a trip out of town and let her get behind the wheel of my Jeep for a little practice driving...I was already informed that when she gets her permit, It is my job to teach her how to drive  anyhow..I tend to ramble....I assume when I post again, I will be posting pics of a new little baby girl
