  7. Congrats ! ! The mountain always looks the biggest when you first start to climb it....but...putting one foot in front of the other gets you on your way to the top ! way to keep climbing! Each accomplishment....or milestone,...deserves a reward.....go get yourself something you would not have normally spent the money on...and don't feel guilty about it...you earned it!

  9. Hi Kathy....we were expecting you... I'm NOT from the UK , but we all play nice here....lol... :) If your nice, we will see if Bat will let you sit up front and drive the train.. ( there is no right or wrong side of the road when you drive a train :p ) All kidding aside, welcome ! The best advice I can offer is to read as much as possible and educate yourself... There are a lot of resources here..articles and videos...when the urge to smok grips you, read through the material and it will help you to understand this addiction, which , will help you beat it!
  10. Woo Hooo! 2 weeks behind you is GREAT! There may still be some struggles ahead, but , realistically...the worst is behind you. Keep the fight going! Your doing great!..I'm sure everyone around you is very proud.

No need to feel bad for doing what you needed to do to break the addiction...there are a lot of people who can't handle the daily reminder of smoking, so they lurk and use what they need to to succeed , and move on....there is nothing wrong with that...I'm just glad when they pop back in and let us know that they(you) are still smoke free and enjoying the new new freedom you gained!

Good to see you pop in and report that you have remained smoke free! We have got a few new members the last couple days, but no Kath...let her know we are watching for her, and that she will be welcomed. :) You need to stick around and post your 1 year anniversary. That's a huge milestone and you are but a couple weeks away! Congrats and stop in a little more often...all support is appreciate. ;)

  19. Great plan, Morgan... I wish you luck n your training... keep focused, and you will get to where you want to be. Once the nicotine is gone from your body, it becomes a mental battle. And, you are correct.... You are just one puff away from becoming a pack a day smoker again....so... Not One Puff Ever!
  20. There is lots of good advice, and it's up to you to decide what will work for you. I started out with a prescription for Chantix....and I took it for 2 days, which, at that point I was reading and watching videos and came to the conclusion, that anything short of quitting cold turkey (CT), was doing nothing more than extending the misery I was putting myself through by drawing out the nicotine withdrawals.... So....CT worked for me, but didn't work for others. You have to chose what path will give you, what you think, is the best advantage at overcoming this addiction.
  21. Welcome Morgan You have come to a great place for support. The people here are great! A lot of good advice has already been posted....all I will add (again) is to read and educate yourself on all the aspects of nicotine addiction. Once I read and understood it, quitting become much easier. This site has a host of resources for you to access... Good luck and welcome aboard!
