  1. My ex wife used to get cluster headaches, serious migraines that used to make her crawl in a corner and cry. I just found out that she quit about a year ago and my grandkids tell me that her headaches have practically gone away just like yours. Perhaps smoking is partially responsible for migraines. This is new information and should be made public, are there any other members who have had this wonderful revelation?
  2. This is a very strong message, no pun intended, but wow. I need to ask you, is it physical strength you speak of or mental strength? I always thought they were different.
  3. Damned Markus, I was just getting to know you, and now you're going away. I am sad, but happy for you on your new venture. Please don't be a stranger, you are welcome here any time, and I like surprises. I anticipate that you will say hello from time to time.
  4. The Motor home is finally here, unfortunately the previous owner was a smoker. No worries though, I'm so happy I could just cry.
  5. First, thank you for posting and not walking away. Second, what did you learn? Third, how can we help you get back to your quit, and how can we help you stay with your quit?

It is amazing how different people's perspectives are.
  7. http://www.get.gg/perspectives.htm Different Perspectives The probably familiar images of two straight lines (of equal length) and a candlestick or wine glass (or two faces) show us that things are often not as they first seem, and there’s almost always a different perspective. When there's a traffic accident, police ask for witnesses to come forward and describe what happened. They like to have as many witness statements as possible so that they can build up enough evidence to give them a broader, more realistic version of events. In a traffic accident, there will be many different perspectives on what happened. The driver of one car will have one view, another driver or a passenger will have yet another view. Each onlooker who witnessed the accident will have a slightly different perspective, depending on where they were, how far they were, how good a view they had, what else was going on, how much danger they felt they were in, how the accident affected them, what the accident means to them. It's the same principle with everything - each situation, event, conversation, means something different to all those involved, and also to those not involved. We give different meanings, according to our belief systems, and how we are affected by the event. We all have our own realities. Anais Nin said “We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are”. We look at situations, events, and interpret what other people say and do, according to our own set of past experiences, culture, faith, values, all of which help us form our beliefs about ourselves, about others, and about the world in general. The meaning we give events, the way we make sense of our world, is based upon our set of core beliefs.

Sorry I haven't posted much today, my landlord started seriously harassing me today and I had to take legal action. And to make matters worse I'm still trying to get my motor home delivered so I can get the fricking hell out of here. Still have my quit, but I am severely stressed and anxious. This is not an SOS, just wanted everyone to know why I'm not doing much posting of late. Wish I was made of money so I did not have to deal with all this crap.
  17. In spite of mega stress right now, NOPE.

  23. In the short time the Quit Train has been around we have had many new quitters and a handful of relapses. I don't endorse relapsing but I am encouraged by the positive and constructive support the members here have given to those who have. Someone who relapses could just walk away and never be heard from again, but I don't see that happening here on the Quit Train. Cudos to everyone for making this the best quit smoking support forum on the Internet.
