  1. Hi Guys, I'm still here, smoke free. I moved today and have been very busy. I am pretty exhausted. Thanks for caring. :-)
  2. I've just been busy packing. I'm moving on Friday. I'm nine days quit now. It has been hard and easy. I planned this quit so I had 3 weeks off from work. I know if I throw it in, I'd be a fool because I'd never get a break from work like this again. I work with people who have mental health issues so I can't be off the beam myself without affecting my clients. I really need to be away from that environment to focus on my quit. I've had a good counsellor beside me. We've talked about 3-4 times a week because mentally I just need that level of support because I really do find it hard to think through problems when I first quit. I really love the new board and so grateful for the kind support here.
  3. Hi Guys, I have been busy packing and haven't been online. To answer the questions; Method - cold turkey Where you at - kind of okay. Having good days mostly with some tough moments How you feel - fuzzy in the head (more than normal) Problems and complaints - I just would think it would be easier to put all smokers on an island so I didn't have to smell the cigarettes. I find less temptation away from them.
  4. Hey Mike did you see MQ's post about, The ex-smoker. I really liked it because it just reminded me of some of the things I've done wrong and how to beat this this addiction.
  5. Thanks Colleen. I'm intending on taking that good advise
  6. Hi Mike, yes I remember you. Great to see you my friend. We can do this again, together.
  7. This is a good video MQ. I see a pattern of unconsciously trying to be stronger than cigarettes by thinking I could have just one and control it. Not so. It controls me unless I outsmart it and never take another puff. Thanks for posting it.
  8. I get the fuzziest head when I quit smoking. I can't think properly so I just learnt to go with the flow. I had to be pretty accepting of myself particularly when I kicked a fence when a dog barked aggressively at me. For some reason I needed to drink a lot of water. I was soooo thirsty. Every day for the first week I've drunk at least 3.5 litres a day. Sometimes I needed a lot of exercise. I did a lot of walking and some weights but other days I was really fatigued and had a sleep. I just had to get used to a new normal for a while until my body gets back to normal without nicotine.
  9. Aww that's beautiful. Thanks You have a great way with words.
  10. It's a week today since I stopped smoking. I have been working with a quit smoking counsellor and was not intending on using internet support forums. This was until day 4 when my withdrawal seemed to be very intense and it was the worst day for me since I quit. I did not want to return to a wit site and say I was quitting only to fall over again. I do feel like this time I have the right mindset to carry through with the task at hand. I have been reading and watching Joel's video's which are very good. I hope I can share this journey again with some others. I am a person who who does spend a long time looking at the past, but this time I am seeking to learn from the mistakes of the past but not dwell on them. As Joel says in one of his video's don't ignore the negatives, but live in the positive.
  11. OMG!!!! That would be illegal here in Australia since it would be considered advertising which is banned for cigarettes!!!! Nancy I want to smack them for you.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
