  11. Congratulations Chris!! 🥳 Question: why did you throw away your crocs?? Were that the shoes you put on to smoke outside and therefore considered smoking parafernalia? Really curious what theme/colour you will end up with.😁

  13. You certainly deserve to celebrate!!!😃🥳🎉
  14. Gday Been looking forward to this day. Usually forget my quit birthday but not this one. This ones special. This one falls one a Saturday just like the first one. I don’t celebrate my last cig smoked that happened the night before. I got up on that Saturday didn’t smoke the first of the day. Didn’t smoke the usual with my first coffee. My wife asked me what I was doing that day and I told her that I was taking her to a movie. Whilst she showered I took my open cig packet and the new packet from the car and filled them full of water. My wife yelled at me for running the tap and spoiling her shower. The ashtrays the lighters the crocs followed the cigs into the bin. I drew the line in the sand and stepped over it never looked back. Don’t ask me what movie I suspect it was some chic flic and I sat through the lot no sneaking out for a smoke. So today I’m going to celebrate. I’m feeling strong so not with a cig …. Not that stupid. Might buy myself a pair of crocs. Got my eye on a pair of dove blue ones just to piss the wife off…. Might go to Clevland to the crocs shop thinking Disney theme… MMMM

  17. Thank you all very kindly. It's funny. The other day, I found myself thinking about how long it's been since I've had a cigarette, cigar, or even a single puff of anything. For all I know, it could have been on my actual quit anniversary, but I didn't even think to check the date. 😆 If I could go back and tell my newly smoke-free self just one thing, it would be this: One day, all those triggers will simply disappear. The seasonal triggers, the stress triggers, the memories, the sights, the smells, and all those unexpected reminders that used to make me want to smoke will eventually lose their power. They'll just fade away until they no longer exist. That was one of my biggest struggles early on. I'd be going about my day, perfectly content, when some random memory or sensory trigger would come out of nowhere and suddenly make me want a cigarette. What I couldn't have imagined back then was reaching a point where none of those things would affect me anymore. Not because I've learned to fight them or become better at resisting them, but because there's simply nothing left to resist. And that's exactly where I am today. The triggers are gone. The desire is gone. Smoking is no longer something I have to think about, avoid, or overcome. That's a kind of freedom I wish my early smoke-free self could have known was waiting for me.
  18. Congratulations @Cbdave on 11 years smoke free! 🥳 What an amazing accomplishment! Thank you for all your support that you have given me in those horrible early days of my quit, in addition to support other quitters. And thank you for posting the Daily Nope pledge that has helped so many of us. Treat yourself big today, you deserve it!!
