Legal cannabis

Had to argue for its use in a college course. Teacher put me on the legalize it team as he knew it was too easy for me to be on the other side.

I learned about the "lethal number" assigned to drugs. Every substance is assigned a number from alcohol to aspirin. Take so much and you die. Mary Jane didn't have a number. Can't smoke enough to die.

But I remember the stupid shiitt we did as kids. Walking railroad tunnels and bridges, running across traffic laughing our assses off.  We couldn't smoke enough to die, but we sure could be high enough to.

As to the other side of argument, and giving credit to medical uses...I believe it is addictive and I believe it causes stupidity when abused. I have several friends from those railroad tracks days who still "toke on a number while digging on the radio". These guys get high every day for 30 years and were smart guys.  Never made it a NASA employees. Find adult cartoons a good conversation.  Now I am not going to say it should be allowed because something worse is. That's as dumb as telling got mother it's ok to run with scissors because sister is taking a bath with the radio plugged in.

There is a reason it's called DOPE is all I am saying.  Recreational, go ahead stupid.

That's why we currently have, and always have had laws against driving while impaired..

It's not like it's any harder to do or even more illegal when prohibitions are in effect.

The crime is driving while impared. Endangering lives.

Not smoking weed.

Comparing the two is again: illogical dumbassery.

The issue as I see it is that there are pretty reliable tests for impairment by alcohol but impairment by other drugs .... not so much. The roadside "touch your nose & walk a straight line" test is a joke no matter what the impairment and having that hold up in court is even a bigger joke (at least where I live). As I understand it, THC stays in the bloodstream a lot longer than alcohol so how will they properly test for impairment by THC? I haven't heard a good, believable answer to that yet.

Don't you guys have breatherlisers for roadside testing? We also have these stick things ya suck on and they give a reading for drugs... if ya fail the sticky thing ya have to get a blood test.
