October 29, 20178 yr I tell the truth, the reason i not take another puff is thinking of those vapours getting into my beautiful lungs. Its funny, i did it for 8 years and never really care but now i couldnt possibly do it. God no.
October 29, 20178 yr Author When I was in the grip of addiction ..over 5 decades..I didn't care what my lungs looked like.. It's only now that I've quit..I worry... And care whether I've dodged the bullet.. I carnt imagine puffing on one of those cancer sticks now...
October 29, 20178 yr When I worked at remote field camps, they had "smoke shacks" and the walls looked exactly like this.
October 30, 20178 yr I was the executor of my sister's Estate when she died a couple of years ago. She was a huge smoker and and alcoholic as well. I had to sell her house and when I went there to get it ready for sale, I found that she apparently laid in bed and smoked all the time because her bedroom was even worse than the pic. you posted. I was horrified when I saw it yet I was a smoker then too so I guess I just justified it by blaming it on her drinking. She couldn't stop smoking because she was an alcoholic. I wasn't an alcoholic so it wasn't a problem that I smoked. I could smoke as much as I liked as long as I didn't drink on top of the smoking :) Junkie thinking at it's most creative!!
October 30, 20178 yr Author This was sad reading P. I am sorry your sister never found freedom to both her addictions..but.. Great news you have found yours...its hard watching someone you love self destructing...xx
