May 17, 201511 yr Slowly - I become less wrapped up in 'not smoking.' I remember when every second of every minute was consumed in 'not smoking'. Constantly telling myself that I do not smoke, I do not want to smoke, smoking does nothing for me.........on and on and on. Gradually, I would go whole minutes without being consumed in 'not smoking'. Then 5 minutes, 10, an hour. I remember thinking 'Good Lord. I have had my coffee, walked the dog and I don't recall thinking about 'not smoking' once. Then it became days. As Markus wrote, 'the slogging becomes a happy walk' Life is better as a happy walk. So I keep walking. If I squint a bit, I can just see Markus, Rain, Babs, and all the other quitters before me a bit further up the same road. B)
