Hey all. I quit smoking Cigarettes in 2019. I'm now smoking again, 3 cigarillos a day. Dutch Master's. Need your support. Trying the patch and Lozenges w/o any success.

Thanks all. Glad to be back but not for smoking again.

Hi @Sal. So great that you've come back. This is 100% the right place to get support and ditch those smokes once and for all!

I quit using patches and the occasional lozenge to help me get through the initial withdrawal phase. That approach can definitely work if you combine it with a true commitment to quitting. The next time you have the urge to smoke, try popping a lozenge and doing something different to distract yourself. I did a LOT of wall push-ups and house-cleaning chores for those first few weeks, to stay busy and keep my mind off of the cravings. It's tough at first, but it gets easier.

You can do this! Let us know how it goes.

Thanks, but I'm failing with the patches and lozenges this time around. Cravings are crazy bad, so disappointed in myself. Trying to stay busy though and take naps when I can to pass time. Seeing a Pulmonologist this month. Maybe that will get my butt in gear.

Hi @Sal Glad you came back on here. We all understand how you feel as we have been there. This is my 2nd time quitting, first time I used Chantix (2009), (I am not sure, if it's still available, but if it is, check it out.) It was a wonder drug for me back then. It made me forget to smoke. Unfortunately, I went back after 6 years because my husband had to have a heart procedure, and I was so nervous and upset. Thankfully, he did well, but I went back to smoking!😠 I realized after a while that me going back to smoking wasn't going to change the outcome of his procedure no matter what I did. This time I have been quit for over 3 years and I basically did it cold turkey, starting from weaning, (DO NOT QUIT WITH WEANING, IT DOES NOT WORK!!) You will be in a perpetual withdrawal that is just horrible, worse than cold turkey! Honestly!

My advice to staying quit is come on here EVERY SINGLE DAY and doing the Daily NOPE pledge, at least for the first year! I am serious, (I come on every single day), I honestly believe that works, becauss it helped me as it kept me focused!!👍Another tip, if you like cinnamon get the sticks and pretend that the sticks are a cigarette. Keep it with you, and when you get an urge pretend it's a cig. You will suck in the air and pretend to blow it out like a cigarette, and it will taste really nice. I kept one in my pocketbook and a couple of them around the house. If you don't like cinnamon, you could use cut up straws. Listen to my advice @Sal, it will help you!!👍

YOU CAN DO THIS!! 99_muscle

Most people realize after they've lit up again that it was a big mistake and they regret it but unfortunately, the addiction's already been awakened by the time you realize that and you have to start the quitting process all over again.

As you're finding out, there's no easy way to quit ... no way to completely avoid those compelling cravings so you simply must not listen to your junkie brain when it tells you you need a smoke - You Don't! That's just your addiction talking and wanting to control your daily life again. Don't let it @Sal

You have already received great advise from others on how to avoid lighting up again while trying to quit. Follow that advice and just get it done ... NO excuses! That's the only way back to freedom Sal! Wishing you strength and commitment 100_pray
