Hi,

I was a member of QSMB back more than a decade ago and with my quit birthday this week I decided to see if a replacement of the board exists. Not only that it does, but I also see many familiar faces.

Glad to see that the forum has found a new place and that more and more people are jumping on the quit train.

I quit cold turkey 11 years ago and have not been back to it.

My life has changed so much for the positive that if I look back at it now, of all the things that I have done, all the achievemnets, I would say that quitting smoking has been one if not the most significant, positive changes I have ever done for myself.

Love and peace to all!

Hello @Leander.. Thank you for coming back to check in with us. It is always very encouraging when someone comes back after having quit for a long period of time to let us know about the positive impact stopping smoking has had on their lives.

Love and peace to you as well!

Regards,

Gene

Hi @johnny5 I remember the profile pic! We used to chat a lot, and with Nelsky, and a few others, I am trying to remember the nicks but it is not so easy. Forum was a great place to hang out and the only place I felt 100% understood and my pains shared.

I'll have to check out this new place now and see if there is room for an old timer.

For sure I remember the Sarge now! And there was a fish expert too, a bass hunter?

Hi @Leander .....Were you Eli on QSMB by any chance?  I remember the chat room and Nelski. and a colorful assortment of others, many from QuitNet in 2015.  The chat room on QSMB stopped working for the last couple of years the site was around.  QuitTrain uses the same software but I don't think the chat room works here either.  Maybe a software glitch?

The bass hunter?  Bassman or addictedbassman (2 different members) possibly?

I hope you stick around.  It is a bit slower here than the old site but the people here are cool and you should see some familiar faces.  Plenty of room for old timers and new timers too.

Yeah, that's me. Eli short for Eliander and Leander, same. So cool you remembered!

We also used the chatroom with Blacky to synchronize the dive bombing in the +1 -1 forum game. I don't think I've had such good laughs since!

Yeah, I'll stick around for sure. Glad to see you are still smoke free and rocking it.

P.S. Now that I thik about it, I should have used my old nick, I think I didn't because I didn't expect to find anyone known here. Let's see if there is a way to change it.

P.P.S Oh, well changing it was easy. Here we go now, back in the old skin.
