Wow!  That is very interesting...I gather you do most of your shopping, there?

Thanks for the share Colleen. That was an interesting read. A CEO who actually cared about employees and customers. I googled more and found this:

They were bringing in a CEO from other big corporations, your prices will end up going up and the well paid employees will more than likely be let go.

Another corporate board disconnected from the company they supposed to oversee. IMHO

Hope you get your store back! I have noticed that the price of food has gone up in my area about $10 in the last couple of weeks without protests!

Wow! We have a chain in Florida called Publix. They are rated one of the best and most profitable in the country. They are family and employee owned

I loved Publix... now if they would stop selling shark meat (endangered) I can shop at them again.

Yes it is not illegal to sell shark in Georgia... yet... we are working on that. ;) I don't want to hijack your thread but yes people eat shark which wouldn't be that bad if they weren't endangered. A majority of them are slaughtered for only their fins (to make soup).

That's horrible... :(

Yeah, I probably do about 85% of my shopping there.  I eat a lot of chicken so, I buy the Perdue tenderloins in bulk at my local wholesale club, BJ's.  Steak from Shaw's or a meat market, but Market Basket is much more inexpensive than any other place.  About 20- 30% savings off the other stores, the store is no frills and all the stocking is done during the day, while you are shopping.  It can get congested, but hey if I am saving that much money, I'm okay with that!

It is amazing the savings...and also the loyalty and determination of employees and customers...

Yes, it is and something else, they are not union...so they are not getting paid either.
