Funny how the brain works...

Featured Replies

When I first quit smoking, I had just found a new "favorite" song... it was https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTxythHY09k. Just a cute little ditty...

Since I happen to use my cell phone as my alarm clock, I used that song to wake me up every morning. I remember the feeling so well... in the early days of my quit, the feeling of overwhelming happiness...

I DID IT, I DON'T NEED TO SMOKE ANY MORE, I QUIT, I'M FREE !!!

I'd lay there, listen to Norah Jones, and glory in knowing that I won my freedom.

To this day... over a year later... whenever I hear that song, I instantly get the same, wonderful feeling... I think I will ALWAYS love that song. :-)

I totally hear what you are saying here.  There are certain songs that remind me of certain situations.  The fact that you can relate a memory so awesome and powerful as quitting smoking to a song is cool.  Whenever you get down...you can go to that song to bring you back up.

Keep on keepin on.

Title is funny how brain works and Chrispy was responding. I had to look. Like a car accident you drive by. Next stop for little bus....

Ha...wait...I don't get it?!?!?!

Now I'll like that song as the song ChristaC liked when quitting smoking.

That's an awesome story!  I want a song now too!

It is amazing isn't it.  Empowering to take control.
