September 7, 20169 yr I feel compelled to say, gfriend....you needn't take up so much room . All that one has to do is. NEVER TAKE ANOTHER PUFF. This is NOT rocket science. fgs. Love, S
September 7, 20169 yr Author Yeah well, gf, YOU don't need to care... appearently nodoby cares but I do and that's most important: can't say that about you right, you had what for a drink, no cola? That's not self care, or loving yourself, it's self destruction. YOU got pissed because it hit a nerve. Well it better will a damn time, when will you deserte that bottle of alcohol, huh? I know where I stand, where are you?
September 7, 20169 yr I am sorry you mis-understood what I was trying to say, which is... maybe you can put a little perspective on quitting smoking...it isn't a huge deal. it is just about NOPE. The other work you are doing on yourself is the real challenge and IS a huge deal. I apologize for pissing you off, that was not my intention.
September 7, 20169 yr Sweetheart... Sally has been by your side for some years...and only has your best interest at heart.. Nothing gets solved when there is anger... She correct in saying ..there is only one way ...nope.. I was angry too Evelyn...mostly at myself...for letting nicotine get its grip for so long... Then I read those articles here about the tobacco companies...my anger turned on those evil folks ..who sit around a table and talk about how they can keep us addicted..to make them rich... We are your friends ...they are the enemies... I'm old here sweetie ..to you...and have learned friends are very important..they keep us going.. From one friend...to another ..xx
September 7, 20169 yr I am new here . I don't know all your story but I am sorry that you have had to go through so much . It isn't fair sometimes . Quitting smoking is something you won't regret . It is putting you first . You are special and you recognize that you are from what I see . You are special and deserving . Sometimes the past can get in the way of the present . Quitting gives you the gift of a new start . I hope you will continue on this journey with those here on Quit train . It seems to me people here do care . I know I have not walked in your shoes or in your footsteps but I can pretty much guarantee most of us here and in 3 D all have hidden pasts that we wish we could have changed. The good news is we can change what our life is today for a better future . The past can be used to help heal others , to walk with others . Good can come of all of this and I believe it will in time . I have to believe , but for now , lets quit smoking what do you think ? One step at a time and lets let the healing begin and let it begin by helping each other .Hope to see you soon on the nope pledge . Sherri .. it all started with day 1
September 7, 20169 yr Just want to add I didn't get it for a long time that quitting could be as simple as "nope". In fact it angered me when people seemed to think it was that easy ." Nope " was very frightening for me and I didn't think people understood where "I" was coming from. Quitting mean't letting go for good and I felt helpless without my crutch to protect me . It WAS complicated for me in the beginning but I refused to smoke no matter what life threw at me . I analized everything to death (in regards to my triggers) . People , places , things , circumstances , the past ,and the nerve of some people too :) I suppose for me it was part of the process but I could have made my quit so much simpler by just accepting my quit and no matter what smoking would not be an option . The way out of this mess was to get through it . >>>> Forward being the only direction to take and not looking back . I know you can do this too . It might not be easy , but I would be excited to see what blossoms out of all your hard work . I gauentee it ; quitting will change you , and others around you .
