Throwing your back out...

Featured Replies

Oh you poor soul I was hoping that you had relief by now. :( :(

I'd absolutely love to see anything specific if it's not too much trouble. I'm spinning my wheels. :(

No trouble! I kinda wing it based on my past life as an active person, but it's all pretty simple and repetitive. The main things I did, SOFTLY, over and over:

(yup, I actually got an artist to draw me in ink) - and

...and also...

^^ for that last one you alternate by rolling forward so you're on all fours like a cat with your back rounded, then repeat.

I also recall seeing some decent stretch/ yoga routines on youtube, it appears I didn't bookmark them but if I find them I'll post them up. If you want to look just search "back" "stretch" "yoga" etc and I'm pretty sure you'll get hits.

Oh, I forgot - for that top one, you can stay in that pose for quite a while with just a mild stretch (ie just barely leaning, and without pulling on your foot), and then alternate it with the pose below to balance it out:

... and briefly grab your toes and gently pull your upper body forward, with your head kept looking ahead instead of tucked down at the ground. Those two took up most of my time.

As BB said, stretching is great, just go very slow.  And always roll to your side and use your arms for support when getting up.  Alternating between ice and heat is good too.

bB thank you I'll very carefully give those a try as soon as I'm able, I appreciate you taking the time to post! DD I'm hoping soon as I really truly don't want it to be something worse than I thought. :/ Run been doing ice and heating pad, and definitely will remember to get up properly, don't want to make this worse. Thanks!!

Oh goodness, I didn't see this. How are you now? xx

I'm better, still a little sore but moving more normally every day. Thank you for asking! :)

Pleased you're moving better now. With two wee ones it is difficult to be unwell in any way, let alone physically. Are you having any ongoing treatments? Or is it just a time thing? x

I am doing stretches and giving it time at this point. I need to see a chiropractor eventually but all in due time, haha. I have so many appointments to think about regularly between the kids and I they are coming out of my ears. :) (My oldest has autism so he has extra appointments that are ongoing)

I'm so glad that you are feeling better!
