Very private matter

I can't go... I tried fruit, drinking water, laxatives who still have to work... I hate it when I'm blown like a balloon and can't poop normally.

THIS must be a very common problem for quittrain'ers: hellup?

Very common. I was both gassy and constipated when I first quit.

Do you drink coffee? That's a natural laxative. Prune juice?

Stay away from dairy!

It horrendous!  I had so much trouble the first year.    Try the foods such as Leanna and Colleen suggested.

I don't use caffeine, only decaf. And what's dairy?

  • Author

Why is that? I only use creamer powder for my decaf.... and cheese

Got some of it out *relieved* after 3 laxatives for intake and well lets say one below...  to get it started

I HATE my bowels. They almost got my killed in 1999 when I survived a 'knot in my upper intestine' which died and caused huge shock. They kept me on a ventilator for 3 weeks and in a artificial coma... but I pulled through; I surprised everyone from the staff.

Last year I had a colon and gastro-scope. Found out my intestine I've got left, 1 mtr large, 50 cm extra on the low intestines. VERY LAZY AND LIKE ELASTIC.

Always fun

when your shit stays inside,

But I smile, caz I don't smoke

I'm as bright as the sun!

Because dairy generally plugs you up even more.

Unless you're lactose. Sometimes it does the opposite if you're sensitive to milk, cheese, etc.

Sorry for the graphic details.... I kept a lot out

I've got lactose intolerance after the bowel got removed.

So sorry you had to go through that Evelyn!

It's probably my safe, the 50 cm extra intestine, otherwise I would have still been on nutrition through a tube ;)

I'm a miracle! :D

Lots and lots of water and exercise, even just walking.

I agree, it's a horrible part of quitting

Cannot walk very much but I can cycle

Evelyn..the above made me crack up...laughed a lot...I really needed a laugh...somebody in my family hurt my feelings tonight and the release was very much needed.

That aside...I would wait before taking anything else.  It may not work right away, but all the remedies you tried are all going to work at once and it will not be pleasant, lol.

I had nasal surgery and was on pain meds for an extended time because of an infection and didn't heed the advice to take a gentle laxative....oh my word...let's just say I gave birth naturally which was excruciating and that was easy compared to this.....Trust me if I ever have another child it won't be natural....Anyway..Do you have Miralax where you are...it's a very gentle laxative and works fabulous...even give it to my son when he had some poop problems...Try it.
