March 2Mar 2 We said goodbye to our beloved old man Herry this week. It’s hard to imagine life without his weight on my lap, his prodigious purrs, his punching me in the face at 6 am, his eating with his hands, his happy drools. My heart is shattered into 100 pieces. Our younger cat keeps wandering from room to room, looking for him. I’m so grateful that Herry found us and became part of our family. Be at ease, angel baby. Edited March 2Mar 2 by DenaliBlues
March 2Mar 2 Sorry to hear this @DenaliBlues😢 We've lost a couple over the years and it's always been a tough time. A positive take away, other than cherishing the love he filled your heart with, is knowing you gave Herry the best life possible🫂
March 2Mar 2 Author Indeed, he enjoyed a wonderful life @Reciprocity. He was dumped in a state park that we were visiting. He sought us out one rainy, stormy night. He was skinny, bloody, trembling, and covered in motor oil. We could see right away that he was special. We took him home, and for the rest of his life, he got all the food, play, naps in the sunshine, and snuggles that his heart desired. And he gave us so much back in return. I’m devastated. But I wouldn’t change it for the world.

It was just after Christmas and the weather was frightfully cold that year; -30's at night. She was also abused we suspect because she absolutely terrified of people. We actually had to live-trap her. We named her Holly because it was just after Christmas when we took her in. She still has a dark spot on her nose due to frostbite. Fortunately it doesn't affect her at all. She's getting up there in age now too. I dread the day we lose her 🙁 Edited March 2Mar 2 by Reciprocity
March 2Mar 2 So very sorry to read this, DenaliBlues. But you saved him and took good care of him for the rest of his life! Herry will be missed.😪
March 2Mar 2 I'm so sorry you've lost Herry 😢 He was a handsome boy and know that you gave him the best life he could have @DenaliBlues They really do eave their paw prints on our hearts 💔
March 6Mar 6 Sorry for not replying sooner @DenaliBlues, I just saw this now. So very sorry about the passing of your cat Herry. It certainly is heartbreaking and I know for sure how you feel. 😢 I had a cat many years ago who passed so I know how sad it is. 💔 Your heart will heal but it does take time. Cats and dogs are part of our family so it's certainly not easy.
