  1. Congratulations, Breathless. On to week 2, then one month, then one year one day at a time.
  2. Good job Kenzie, Hell Week is a though one.
  3. Thank you everyone. Sorry I'm late responding, but I missed this tread.
  4. Edna_Clouds I used "rooted out" in a post the other day and learned I needed to excuse my language to Australians. Funny how we all have our slang, and what it translates to.
  5. I too am having sinus problems, Reciprocity. I think it is quit related, because I have never had sinus problems before. I had them for about 2 weeks now and they finally have started to ease up, hope yours are getting better also. I love the fact that I don't have to smoke before every outing. My husband mentioned the other day how nice it was that he didn't have to wait 10 minutes for me to smoke before we got in the car. P.S. I can't use the quote feature, does anyone know why?
  6. I feel you have every right to charge a cleaning fee. I do remember how inconsiderate I was when I was a smoker, not so much recently, but in the early 70s OMG. But if someone told me it bothered them I would try to be polite about it. Send a message that it is not acceptable, and you did give them the alternative of ashtrays in the garden. Have a non smoking someone from their employment come down and verify, if need be.
  7. Hang in there, you are tougher than this. Remember all the times you had to go to the store because you were out of cigarette. Remember making your friends and family wait for you, while you smoked a cigarette, before you got in the car, after a meal at the restaurant, before getting on a flight. Remember having to find a place to smoke. Walking long ways at the hospital because you had to get off the property completely, then having to smoke two in a row because it took so long to get to the smoking place. All the while Mum was in her room waiting for you to get back. Remember missing moments because you had to find someplace to smoke. Remember thinking and planning about when and where you could smoke for every occasion, road trips, plane trips, movies. Take a look at all the money you have saved.
  8. The "Pre Response to Your Own SOS" is such a good idea. I will definitely use this tool, sometimes all we need is a little reminder of why we quit.
  9. Thank you for the welcome, I'm sure I am going to like it here.
  10. Hi Everyone, I'm a new member to this board, I'm also a member on another board, I'm here on the recommendations of a member of both boards. I have been reading some of the posts, you have been very welcoming and understanding to the new members from the other board, thank you. You can't get too much support when you are quitting smoking. I quit cold turkey after 45 years of smoking a pack a day, It has been just over 3 months, so the worst of it is over, but I am still relying on the support of others that are on this journey. I hope to continue as a member of both boards.
  11. Hi everyone, I'm am new to this board also, but glad to meet you all.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
