  1. The thing that worked for me last time was the nicotine gum...so I will probably chew the gum again with the help of Chantix...,also crocheting and chomping on ice (do not recommend ).
  2. Thank you all for your help and advice...I have an appointment with the doctor to get a prescription of Chantix...that is the choice I have decided on...but I will also get that book you all recommend...I have a lot of support...everyone is ecstatic about me quitting. Thanks every one for your support...I am sure I will REALLY need your help in the next week or so...Thank you again!!!

  4. :wacko:My name is Abby and my daughter told us a couple of weeks ago that she is having a baby and I promised her I would quit smoking when she got pregnant....so I'm stressing out about quitting...if it were just me to think about I wouldn't quit (although I need to do it for myself before my chronic bronchitis turns into something worse...Any advice on what worked for you????
  5. Thank you for all your support...I haven't quit yet and I was wanting to hear about how everyone quit smoking...People who went cold turkey, Chantix, the patch or the gum...I quit for 5 years in 2000 until 2005. Then got around my sister and bummed a smoke from my sister and that is all it took...I also quit when I was pregnant with my 2 babies....my daughter and her husband don't want me near the baby...even if don't smoke in front of the baby, they won't even let me smell like smoke, they won't let me hold her...I NEED everyone's advice on what worked for them....I am in love with my cigs and I think I am going to go nuts without my smokes...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
