Christine, sad to hear.

Don't give up on giving up. You need to be clear on the reasons you want to quit.

Write them down, drum them into your mind, so there is no way you are ever going to forget. Then go again.

Also make a note of what did and what didn't work this time. So in a few days when you quit again you will be prepared for what will be thrown at you. Only you can make the choice to put a smoke in your mouth, light it and smoke it and only you can make the choice not to.

Ask yourself why do you want to keep doing the first miserable week/month.over and over again?

Also don't worry about what your boyfriend is doing. He may not quit on the same day or week/month/year and that's ok because you have to want to quit for you.

If you truly want to quit you'll do everything you can to protect that precious quit. I stayed glued to the forum all day everyday for the first year. I also stayed close to home and didn't go places that I knew people would be smoking for the first month or two. I also had a non smoker go with me shopping etc. Anything to stay quit. Are you ready to do what it takes?

So sorry it didn't work out this time. Did smoking help you at all?

Hope to see you back really soon.

As others have told you...you have to stop trying, and start doing.  Read your posts....you started setting yourself up to fail from the start of your quit.  Lose the excuses, suck it up, put on the big girl panties, and let's get it done!  Believe it or not, it is not harder for you than anyone else.  Just make up your mind...Not One Puff Ever!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
