Last Sunday was the Children's Onbashira Festival in Chino City. I went down to help pull the log around the village to the Fox Mountain God Shrine while the children rode on the sacred log. My cousin in law was in charge of the event this year and that is him riding the log in the first vid. For more info about the real, major Onbashira festival check out the Onbashira Wiki... Yes, people do die while either riding the log down the slope or during the raising pillars at the shrine. That's part of the tradition!
