Ooooo...mg You two chicks are killing us!!!
  16. and a few more.... 12 years ago, this is the gazebo where my daughter was supposed to get married...which was also my first trip to the OBX...as it turned out, someone didn't look at their schedule and the gazebo was completely torn apart for repairs and updates the same week that Kelli was to get married. The city of Manteo gave her permission to use the deck of Historical lighthouse museum (previous pic) for their mistake...well..that was a good plan until the day of the wedding it rained.....all day!! The back up plan was to have it at the nags Head Beach Club (where the reception was being held), but that would mean delaying it for about 4 more hours....so, long story short, my (now) son-in-law somehow talked the manager of the (then) Waterfront Trellis Restaurant (has since changed names) into clearing the dining room and moving the diners to different dining areas, and setting up chairs for the wedding guests and having the ceremony inside there. (it was the same place we had the rehearsal dinner and in the same general area as the Gazebo and Lighthouse). It turned out great, had a great view of the Sound out the windows, (of course the sun started to shine during the ceremony..lol)...anyhow, fast forward 12 years , 3 daughters and many trips back to the OBX and everyone is living happily ever after! Here is a pic of the outside of the Waterfront Trellis I took last week. Kelli, Troy, and their girls, 12 years later..

  25. Our week in the OBX has come to an end. We left for home this morning about 8am, and should be home by 8:00 or 10:00 pm tonight ( Sat.). Depending on if we stop to eat and how long it takes us to get rolling again. I drove the first 9 hrs and handed the last 3 or so over to Sherrie to finish up. It's no wonder Bakon headed for Florida this week.We left the sunny beaches of North Carolina only to currently be traveling through the snowy countryside of Pennsylvania. I am certain Ohio will have just as much snow and cold! We went in the "off season" this time. The prices are much easier on the wallet. The 4bedroom house that was on the beach was 1/4 the price it is in the summer. As an added bonus, there is not nearly as many people there. My wife collects seashells, and many of the places we went, we were the only ones on the beach! We stayed in Rodanthe this time, which is South of all the main "touristy" ares. We stayed just down the beach from the house used in the (Richard Gere) movie, "Nights in Rodanthe". The down side to going this time of year, is a lot of the business are closed. Most of them I don't care about so much but there was a couple restaurants and "Austin's" fish market that was closed and was really looking forward to going to... Anyhow...gonna attach a few thumbnail pics and rest up tomorrow so I can start regular life again. :( Ok....can't attach em on my iPad in the car(I'm using my phone as a hot spot) and is taking too long to attach....I will try and post a few tomorrow. Ive been real busy trying to catch up on things since I got back and haven't taken the time to upload any pics...so, this morning before I head out, i thought I would post a few of that we took in the OBX.. this first pic isn't mine, but an aerial view of Cape Point Hatteras... the next pic is taken as we walked the beach out to there...its quite the sight! Not many fishing the day we were there, but in the off seqason, nothing is as crowded as it is in the summer. and now just a bunch of random pics of sunrises, long walks on the beach, and or views from our deck. heading down the 4X4 beach to find the Wild Spanish Mustangs..this is the area Bakon stays in. and...a sunset from the back of the ferry on the return trip from Ocracoke... Sorry if this is too many..I just uploaded a bunch more to facebook to make room on my phone...it was hard to pick just a few...lol well...I had a bunch more posted, but said I exceeded my limit...lol...oh well....maybe another post later...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
