The Canadian Supreme Court has ruled agains Big Tobacco today in the Provincial law suits that are claiming billions in health care costs. Big Tobacco wanted access to individual health records in an attempt to prove pre-existing conditions contributed to deaths and life altering illnesses of smokers listed in the suits.

Good on you Canada! Stick it to Big Tobacco where it hurts most ........ in the pocket book :)

This one is in relationship to the Province of British Columbia but virtually all other provinces are at some stage of similar law suits against Big Tobacco and this will have a ripple affect all down the line!

Oh Canada!... great outcome so far... sad that its been an ongoing battle for 17 years, kind of makes you want to yell at Big Tobacco to stop stalling and face the freakin music, scumbags.

Didn't like the wording of the ruling though that pointed big tobacco to a loop hole, but seriously I hate that these guys can just stall and stall and stall.. 17 years is too long to play the stall game... someone needs to draw a line in the sand and get this show on the freakin road.
